Liverpool continued their winning start to the Premier League season in style as they defeated an in-form Arsenal side 3-1 on Monday night.

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette scored in his third consecutive Premier League match to open the scoring after capitalising on a poor clearance from Andrew Robertson.

The lead lasted a mere three minutes when Sadio Mane tapped in from close range after Bernd Leno parried a Mo Salah shot.

Robertson then redeemed himself from his earlier error as he gave The Reds the lead before half-time - tapping the ball past the outrushing Leno from other fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross.

Lacazette missed two golden opportunities to score in the second half before Liverpool got their deserved third through substitute Diogo Jota - the summer signing's volley nestled into the bottom corner to give The Reds their third win in three.

This is the warm down from Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

Deserved win for dominant Reds.

Victory was guaranteed for Jurgen Klopp's side when Jota volleyed home in the 88th minute of the game, however the champions should've been out of sight way before that point after putting in a wonderful performance.

Going into the break with a 2-1 lead, Liverpool had dominated every aspect of the affair, having over 70% possession and 11 shots to Arsenal's one - with that one shot being gifted to The Gunners.

The game ended with the Merseyside club having over four times the amount of shots as their opponents and almost twice the possession.

As well as a top-class team performance there were many individual performances that stood out too, with Mane and Salah at their best once again, giving The Gunners defence more than they could handle.

Joe Gomez was also impressive on his return to The Reds defence after a short injury lay-off, with the England international completing four dribbles from centre-back - only Salah and Mane completed more.

Squad depth no longer an issue for Klopp's side.

Over the last few seasons, one of the biggest differences between Liverpool and primary title rivals Manchester City has been the options available off the bench. You could've made a starting XI that would challenge for top four with City's bench last season, and the same couldn't be said for The Reds.

After the summer signings of both Jota and Thiago Alcantara as well as younger players starting to rise to the occasion of the Premier League, it's possible that Liverpool now have the strongest squad-depth in the league.

Liverpool were without important midfield figures Thiago and Jordan Henderson on Monday against Arsenal, however it didn't affect the Reds as the midfield rolled over Mikel Arteta's side and swept up any loose balls in the middle.

With the likes of Jota, Takumi Minamino, James Milner and Curtis Jones all available on the bench yesterday for Liverpool, it's safe to say rotation will no longer be an issue for Klopp.

Anfield woes continue for The Gunners.

It's fair to say that Arsenal have not enjoyed their Merseyside visits over the last few years.

In fact, the last time Arsenal won a game at Anfield was over eight years ago in Septemeber 2012, and can you guess who was in the Arsenal midfield that day? That's right, current Gunners manager, Arteta.

The last six meetings in all competitions between the two sides at Anfield have ended in a Liverpool victory, meaning the last time Athe North-London club even came away with a point was over four years ago, drawing 3-3 in 2016.

It's not just Arsenal who have a poor record at Anfield though, as it's now been over three years since Liverpool lost a game at home. You have to go back to April 23rd, 2017 to witness Liverpool's last home loss where they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Fortress.
