Crystal Palace look to rebound from an opening day defeat as they face Liverpool in Premier League action on Monday night.

The Eagles were soundly beaten by Arsenal with Gabriel Martinelli opening the scoring and an own goal by Marc Guehi five minutes from time securing all three points for the Gunners.

A week after winning the Community Shield, the Reds twice came from behind in a 2-2 draw against newly-promoted Fulham. Aleksandar Mitrovic twice put the Cottagers in front before Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah ensured a point.

This matchup has seen Liverpool dominate with the Reds winning ten straight matches against Crystal Palace. The Eagles last win was in April of 2017.

Team news

Liverpool

Midfielder Naby Keita is expected to return to the team after suffering from an illness that forced him to miss the draw against Fulham.

Thiago Alcantara sustained a hamstring injury last week and he joins Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, also with a hamstring issue and Curtis Jones, who has a calf injury, on the sidelines.

Diogo Jota (thigh) and second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher (groin) remain out, but left-back Kostas Tsimikas has returned to training.

Crystal Palace

Michael Olise returned to training this week and could be in the Eagles squad for the trip to Merseyside after the midfielder missed all of pre-season and last week's season opener due to a foot injury sustained last spring.

Nathan Ferguson has had a setback as he continues to recover from a foot problem while midfielder James McArthur (groin) and defender James Tomkins (calf) are still out.

Key players

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool)

Came off the bench against Fulham, but had a fine debut for the Reds. Nearly opened his account with a cheeky flick, equalized with a similar effort and was a real presence and threat whenever he got into the box. Helped inadvertently set up Salah's goal.

Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace)

The Dane was Palace's best player, winning all four of his aerial duels, completing the most passes, had the most touches, clearances and was a constant outlet to frustrate the Arsenal attack. His range and depth of passing were also particularly impressive.
