Starting off right
Mourinho took the reigns of the Red Devils for the first time at the DW Stadium, and started off his reign with a win.
Second-half goals from Will Keane, and Andreas Pereira secured the win, and Mourinho shared his delight at the victory.
Mourinho told MUTV that he was "very happy" and believes "the result is obviously not the most important thing, but it is always important" and that all those who played in the "game had a positive performance".
He continued to say "Best of all was something that I never had before" which was a "friendly match which I could call a training session", however "there were so many supporters who gave permanent support to the team".
Making their debuts...
The match allowed Mourinho to hand debuts to his new signings, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian played for 45 minutes, and he shared his delight at making his debut for the Red Devils.
Mkhitaryan said: “I would say it was a good game" but admitted the "the first half was a little bit difficult because we couldn't score a goal".
He concluded “I am trying, because the first days are always very difficult" mainly because you "have to get to know your team-mates and their qualities".
He said that he's not "trying to learn everything very quickly", adding that "game by game it will be better and better".
Manchester United will take on Borussia Dortmund at the Shanghai National Stadium on Friday, July 22 in their next fixture, with kick-off at 1pm BST.
