Poland moved atop Group C at the 2022 World Cup following a 2-0 victory over giant-killers Saudi Arabia at the Education City Stadium.
A 39th-minute goal by Piotr Zielinski gave the Bialo-czerwony the lead and Robert Lewandowski finally broke his duck at the World Cup, capitalizing on a miscue by Green Falcons midfielder Abdulelah Al Malki to bag that elusive first goal.
Here are the player ratings for both sides with Group C now wide-open.
Poland
Wojcicek Szczesny - 8
Quite possibly the Man of the Match after saving Salem Al-Dawsari's penalty as well as the rebound. Made at least two other fantastic stops through the course of the contest.
Matty Cash - 5
Shaky defensively and contributed very little in attack. Was tasked with providing with down the flank with Zielinski drifting inside and could have seen a second yellow.
Kamil Glik - 7
Carried out his defensive assignments well and commanded the back line. Distributed the ball effectively when given the opportunity. Showed a real physical presence to his game.
Jakub Kiwior - 6
Saudi Arabia took advantage of his side of the field and was anxious in his decision-making, but did just enough.
Bartosz Bereszynski - 5.5
His effort can't be faulted but didn't really join in the attack when the Bialo-czerwony were pushing forward and his resistance was suspect.
Piotr Zielinski - 7
His goal was wonderfully taken and he has an eye for finding dangerous spaces to attack. Sent in some lovely balls and was withdrawn after an hour.
Grzegorz Krychowiak - 5.5
Struggled to contain the Green Falcons from getting through the midfield, but he did manage to limit their effectiveness.
Krystian Bielik - 6
Gave away the penalty that Szczesny so brilliantly saved. Otherwise, was steady in the middle of the park.
Przemyslaw Frankowski - 6
Wa on the outskirts of the action, but tried to make things happen. Maintained a positive attitude throughout the whole of the match.
Arkadiusz Milik - 5.5
Didn't do much outside of hitting the post with a shot and was booked.
Finally got that long-awaited goal he was searching for. Got into dangerous positions, linked up well with teammates and picked up an assist on Zielinski's opener.
Jakub Kaminski - 5.5
Krzyzstof Piatek - 4.5
Saudi Arabia
Mohammed Al-Owais - 5.5
Zielinski's opener was a great piece of skill and Al-Dawsari gave the ball away for Lewandowski's goal. Was quick to clear his lines of any danger.
Saud Abdulhamid - 7
Played with determination and industry. Swapped flanks with Mohammed Al-Burayk and saw plenty of the ball, posing a threat. Was eager to support the attackers every chance he got.
Abdulelah Al-Amri - 6.5
He certainly tried his best and sent in some terrific diagonal balls. Was better with the ball at his feet than Ali Al-Boleahi was.
Ali Al-Boleahi - 5.5
Struggled to deal with Lewandowski for much of the afternoon and got dragged out of position for Poland's first goal.
Mohamed Kanno - 7.5
Was the Green Falcons best player. Drove forward from midfield with purpose and a zest for the action. Charged all over the pitch and took some knocks for his troubles.
Abdulelah Al-Malki - 4.5
Committed the defensive error that led to Poland's second goal, which sealed his side's fate and overshadowed anything else he may have done.
Sami Al-Najei - 6
Was curiously taken off at halftime after not playing all that poorly over the first 45 minutes.
Firas Al-Buraikan - 6
Was a constant outlet receiving the ball up the field when Saudi Arabia progressed far more easily than Poland. Did fire over when under pressure.
Saleh Al-Shehri - 6.5
Was an annoyance for most of the match and did clear a ball off the line. Was sharp throughout and look to make things happen. Won the penalty that Szczesny stopped.
Salem Al-Dawsari - 6
He didn't take the best of penalties, but it did take a top-shelf save from Szczesny to keep Poland in front in an otherwise impressive afternoon. Did have a clearance off the line.
Nawaf Al-Abid - 7
Did inject some life into the Green Falcons attack with his forward-thinking play.
Abdulrahman Al-Oboud - 6
Nasser Al-Dawsari - N/A
Hattan Bahebri - N/A
