Brock Lesnar turned the sports world upside down this past week as it was announced that The Beast would be returning to UFC on a temporary basis.

The 38-year-old will square off against Mark Hunt at UFC 200 but the former WWE World Heavyweight champion's appearance at the special event may see his parent company ask for someone in return for his services.

With Connor McGregor ruled out of making any sort of appearance at SummerSlam due to his focus on his rematch against Nate Diaz and Ronda Rousey seemingly being saved for much further down the line it seems that the WWE have turned their attention to the services of Paige VanZant

The 22-year-old competes in the Strawweight Division of UFC and is ranked as the eighth best in the division with an impressive record of six wins and just two defeats acting as blemishes on her mixed martial arts record.

VanZant's manager confirmed the WWE's interest in his client as he said they have "reached out" about the possibility of 12 Gauge featuring at this years SummerSlam event in "some capacity" sparking speculation of an increasing integration between the two companies.

Several UFC stars have already made guest appearances for the WWE with former Women's Bantamweight Champion Rousey already appearing at WrestleMania 31 as she teamed up with The Rock; Dwayne Johnson to deliver a taste of justice to The Authority; Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Ken Shamrock was christened "The World's Most Dangerous Man" way before he made the leap to WWE back in 1997 as by this time in his career he had already made a name for himself via his MMA career with his feud against Royce Gracie going down as one of the most legendary in the sport. It was not until 1995, two years after his fighting career had begun that he would defeat Dan Severn to become the UFC Superfight Champion at UFC 6. Shamrock upon making it to the WWE would go on to battle against Shawn Michaels, The Rock and The British Bulldog as he became a huge name in the professional wrestling world.

Brock Lesnar began his career with WWE but after seeking pastures new he decided to try his hand at American Football; this did not work out too well. The amateur wrestler opted to focus on legitimate fighting and found his way to the UFC where he ultimately lost his debut bout against Frank Mir but then picked up two wins with his second seeing him defeat Randy Courture for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 91. Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012 taking out John Cena and Triple H in the process as he cemented his position as a dominant force in his first year since his eight year departure as he quickly picked a World Championship two years later in 2014 after defeating Cena and has been a huge attraction since.
