Manchester City are potentially only 90 minutes away from their second ever Champions League semi final. After a convincing 2-1 win against Real Madrid only a week ago, their focus now turns to seven time Ligue 1 champions Lyon.

Confidence is high in the City camp after a solid home win against a high quality Real Madrid side in the round of 16 last week. Blues manager, Pep Guardiola will be looking at seeking revenge on Lyon tomorrow night after they failed to beat them in either leg in the group stage of the 18/19 campaign.

Goalkeeper- Ederson

For many, including Guardiola, quite possibly the most obvious choice of the starting eleven. Ederson is a hit with Pep Guardiola having been his first choice goalkeeper for the majority of his time with the side after joining from Benfica back in June 2017.

Right back- Kyle Walker

The defensive speed merchant will be the obvious choice at right back tomorrow evening for Pep' side. With Oleksandr Zinchenko out injured at left back, this has given Walker a great opportunity to become a nailed on starter with the squads other right back João Cancelo filling in at left back.

Centre back- Aymeric Laporte

The Frenchman has played in eleven of a possible thirteen games since the restart of football back in mid June. He is a prime example of a Rolls Royce defender, boasting an exceptional ability with the ball at his feet along side being able to effortlessly go about his defensive duties.

Centre back- Fernandinho

With a number of injuries in the defensive area plaguing the squad of Manchester City earlier this season, Fernandinho showed his exceptional versatility by becoming a regular starter at the back for them. Despite Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones both being fit for selection the quality and leadership Fernandinho has shown at centre back has made him a regular in the Champions League this season for the Blues.

Left back- João Cancelo

As previously stated, the injury to Zinchenko but also inconsistent fitness of Benjamin Mendy has meant the opportunity of regular football on the opposite side of defence has arisen for Portuguese international, Cancelo. He has pace, good crossing and experience in this competition in abundance.

Defensive Midfield- Rodrigo

The epitome of Pep' system Rodrigo who is affectionately known as Rodri has been solid as a rock sitting just in-front of the defence. The powerful midfielder glides round the pitch and offers equal quality both going forward and tracking back. His ability to drop into defence if needed and eye for a pass makes him a great addition into the side.

Central Attacking Midfield- Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne is a fan favourite at the Etihad after an impressive campaign, which saw him pick up the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season with 20. One of  the best players on the planet right now he is of a different breed when it comes to pulling strings in midfield. Another player that can single handedly change a game.

Central Attacking Midfield- David Silva

With his tenth and final season drawing to a close the Spanish magician has racked up over 300 games for City but he will be hoping this will not be his final game in sky blue. His starting spot in the side is not a token gesture for his loyalty to the club, even at 34 years-old he still has so much to offer. His intricate style of play suits Pep' system to a tee which is the reason for his regular starts in midfield.

Right Wing- Riyad Mahrez

The Algerian winger is now a big part of Guardiola' way of playing, he is known for his unstoppable ability of cutting in on his left foot but also being able to run up to the by line and cut the ball back into the 6 yard box as City have done so many times this season. He is in great form at the moment and would be a key asset for the team going forward.

Left Wing- Raheem Sterling

Having had a fantastic season so far he has managed to accumulate ten goals in his last ten games and is definitely one of the most feared wingers in Europe. If he is on fine form expect an emphatic display from the pacey wide man.

Striker- Gabriel Jesus

Having had big boots to fill since the injury of Sergio Aguero he has definitely done just that. His vital goal in the win over Madrid in the previous round  really showed everyone he has the ability to be a big game player. High in confidence, rich in form this could be a defining game for not only Manchester City but for Gabriel himself.
