Option 1 - Nikola Milenkovic

Holding a great amount of defensive prowess, Nikola Milenković could offer a substantial amount to West Ham next season. He would set the club back around £20m, a price which in comparison to his ability seems a bargain.

At 6'4, Milenkovic offers superb aerial ability and physicality, which to succeed as a Premier League centre back, you need. The young centre back also offers excellent defensive stats. 69% of dribblers tackled and 76.6% of aerial duels won.

Milenkovic has been linked with some of the worlds biggest clubs in the past, with the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City all reportedly have had an interest in the 23-year-old.

Nikola Milenković is a sudden priority for West Ham, according to the well-known insider, ExWHUemployee

"Centre Back has suddenly become more of a priority for us. Angelo has taken a knock and it's proven to the club that we are reliant on another Centre Back. Nikola Milenkovic, at first we were talking £25m now they're prepared to accept a bit lower. These talks are ongoing with him and things could progress quite quickly." Ex mentioned on the West Ham Way podcast.

Option 2 - Kurt Zouma

West Ham have recently seen themselves linked with Champions League winner and established Premier League centre back, Kurt Zouma. The club is willing to pay around £20m for Zouma, but Chelsea wants a fee closer to £25m.

Kurt Zouma played 24 games for Chelsea in the Premier League last season, netting five goals in that time. A danger from set-pieces, Zouma could prove to be a smart purchase from West Ham not only for defensive qualities, but attacking qualities too.

The Frenchman is comfortable with the ball and tops most centre backs with his passing stats, something which could become very useful for West Ham if he signed.

He has made just one error leading to a goal in his 99 Premier League appearances for Chelsea. An underrated player who deserves much more respect than he gets.

Option 3 - Nathaniel Phillips

The cheapest option of the 3, Liverpool are rumoured to be willing to listen to offers for Nathaniel Phillips this summer. Phillips came into Liverpool's defence during last seasons injury woes when they only had 2 senior centre backs fit. Throughout his time, he continued to impress being a brave, warrior-like centre back who was willing to put his body on the line.

Phillips is said to cost around £10m-£15m, a great deal for what you're getting. Perfectly suited for Moyes, hard-working, dedicated, strong and brave.

He has excellent defensive stats, 8.81 clearances per 90 and 6.05 aerial duels won per 90, which puts him right up there with other centre backs. At just 24 years old, Phillips could prove to be a tidy option for West Ham and one which won't set them back too much money.

The best fit for West Ham

Nikola Milenković looks as if he would be the best fit for West Ham's ambitions. The youngest option and statistically the best. Highly rated, the Serbian is ready for the step up to the Premier League.

West Ham have a physical advantage against most teams, with the likes of Tomas Soucek, Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson scoring a lot of goals from set-pieces last season. Milenkovic has the physical presence to add to that, he could be a pain for opposing teams at both ends of the pitch.

Milenkovic would definitely be open to a move to the East London side, as Fiorentina finished a disappointing 13th place. West Ham have UEFA Europa League football to boast next season and could be a high contender for any target this summer.
