Rotherham will be looking for their first win of the season as they face Reading at The AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Millers could not play last weekend after their game away to Coventry City was postponed due to the Sky Blues pitch being deemed 'unsafe'.

On the contrary, Reading were able to play and tasted victory for the first time this season, beating Cardiff City 2-1 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium with goals from veteran Shane Long and Tom Ince.

With both sides being predicted to be contenders for relegation come the end of the season, this will be a game both will want to win as it could prove pivotal come May.

Team news

Rotherham United

Rotherham will be without summer signing Conor Washington after he was forced off in the Millers' 1-2 Carabao Cup victory over Port Vale after 37 minutes.

They will also be without Peter Kioso who was forced off at half-time with a groin injury, which will keep him out for a number of weeks.

Reading

Ovie Ejaria will miss out with a fresh hamstring injury, which will keep him out for a month, meaning Basil Tuma may get his first professional start in his place. Sam Hutchinson could return to the side, whilst Naby Sarr could finally be given approval by the EFL to sign for the club, and if they get it done in time, could also feature on Saturday.

Likely lineups

Rotherham United

Johansson; Hall, Wood, Humphreys-Grant, Harding, Lindsay, Barlaser, Wiles, Ferguson, Kelly, Ogbene.

Reading

Key players

Chiedozie Ogbene

The Irishman stared off the season in fine form, scoring the equaliser in the Millers' first game of the season against Swansea two weeks ago. The winger has gained admirers in the Championship in recent weeks, and could even leave before the transfer deadline if a suitable offer comes in.

Tom Ince

The 30-year-old has started the season in fine form, scoring a brilliant winner for the Royals on Saturday as he hit it from 30 yards into the top right corner to secure his side all three points. His trickery, tenacity and work rate have made him a key player for the Berkshire side.
