After signing for £27 Million the German has joined a young Borussia Dortmund attack with the likes of Giovanni Reyna and Youssoufa Moukoko. BVB's new man Karim Adeyemi got off to the perfect start on his competitive debut as he scored in a three-nil win against 1860 Munich.

The new German forward has arrived at the Bundesliga club this summer in hope that he will be able to help with scoring goals which will be missing after superstar Erling Haaland after his departure to Manchester City.

Adeyemi has joined the club with a fantastic record in front of goal with scoring 23 goals in 44 games for Red Bull Salzburg last season. With 16 of them coming in the league while four of them coming into the Champions League which saw them get out the group stages and play Bayern Munich in the Round of 16, which saw them exit the competition after losing eight-one on aggregate.

Dortmund closed the gap to Bayern Munich last season as they finished eight points behind The Bavarians where as two years ago they were 14 points behind the champions. And with the Munich club losing their second all time top scorer Robert Lewandowski; this could be the year that take the title away from the Allianz Arena for the first time in 10 years.

  • Does He Fit in Marco Rose's System?

He will fit into the Dortmund and Marco Rose playstyle which is all about fast paced, aggression and the typical German style of play, know as the gegenpress. While on paper he plays a four-four-two but during the match they move into sort of three-four-three.

With the pace of new man Adeyemi and wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko they will be able to counter attack at pace while also being able to control possession with Dortmund legend Marco Reus, Julian Brandt and Jude Bellingham in the centre of the park.

However, Adeyemi could be the man to replace Haaland as the younf German has an eye for goal and has the pace and wants the same paces as the Norwegian did during his time and the club. With passes being played behind the defence and allows the forward to play on the shoulder of the last defender.

With Marco Rose's play style and from the first competitive game where Adeyemi played on the wing and just off the striker who was youngster Moukoko and Donyell Malen on the other wing. And with Rose's style the main striker drops deeper and drags a centre back out of position which allows the wingers and other attackers to get in behind and create more chances.

With Adeyemi going from a Red Bull academy coach at RB Salzburg and playing a high press and the midfielders looking to play a pass over the top of the defence.

Salzburg coach Mattihas Jaissle plays a similar attacking game to fellow RB coach and current Dortmund manager Marco Rose with the strikers playing high and on the shoulder of the centre backs with either and attacking midfielder or another attacker dragging a centre back or a defensive midfielder out of position to create space in behind.

While also playing a similar formation and attacking style during a game, with starting a match in a 4-4-2 then during the defensive midfielder dropping back in between his centre backs and the full backs getting high up the pitch and spreading the opposition defence and creating space for the strikers to be one on one with the other teams centre backs.

With Adeyemi getting his debut for the German national team and scoring in the six-nil win against Armenia it showed to both Hansi Flick and Marco Rose that he would be able to perform on a high level and not let the pressure of the occasion get to him.

But with the massive presence that Haaland had both on the Dortmund and the Bundesliga, will Adeyemi be able to fill in the hole that Dortmund need to have?
