Charlotte FC return home to face Inter Miami at Bank of America Stadium.
Charlotte took just one point on their most recent three-match road trip, drawing with the Colorado Rapids sandwiched in between defeats to the New England Revolution and Orlando City.
A 2-0 defeat to the Revolution saw the Herons' four-match winning streak snapped as they sit level on points with their opponents, but are five goals worse.
Team news
Vinicius Mello continues to miss out as the Brazilian is still recovering from surgery on his left foot. Joseph Mora is absent due to health and safety protocols.
Adam Armour and Chris Hegardt have knee injuries that will keep them sidelined while Yordy Reyna has a lower leg issue.
Andre Shinyashiki was acquired via trade from Colorado to help bolster an attack that has averaged just 0.93 goals per game.
Inter Miami
Ian Fray has been out for over a year and will continue to be sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury.
Joevin Jones' knee issue continues to linger and joining him on the sidelines are Victor Ulloa, Robbie Robinson and Ryan Sailor.
Edison Azcona, Bryce Duke, Kieran Gibbs, Damion Lowe and Nick Marsman are all listed as doubtful with undisclosed injuries.
The Herons have re-acquired Indiana Vassilev on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa.
Predicted lineups
Charlotte FC: Kahlina; Fuchs, Makoun, Corujo, Lindsey; Alcívar, Bronico, Franco; Ortíz; Ríos, Swiderski
Inter Miami: Marsman; McVey, Lowe, Mabika, Yedlin; Mota; Allen, Gregore, Duke, Lassiter; Campana
Ones to watch
Andre Shinyashiki (Charlotte FC)
Just acquired by CLTFC from Colorado, he will come off the bench, but his versatility and ability to play centrally or on the wings will provide another dimension in attack as well as support for Karol Swiderski.
Gregore (Inter Miami)
The Frenchman was the club MVP last season and he is a force on the defensive end, making key tackles, tracking opponents' runs and runners and blocking passing lanes.
Previous meetings
This is the first-ever meeting between Charlotte and Inter Miami.
How to watch
The match will be streamed nationally on ESPN+. National television coverage will be provided by UniMas and TUDN. WAXN will have all of the action in Charlotte.
Kickoff is set for 3:30pm Eastern time on Saturday.
