Leeds United travel look to make it two wins from two to start the season as they travel down the south coast to face Southampton.

The Whites fell behind after just six minutes against Wolves last week, but goals from Rodrigo and an own goal by Rayan Ait-Nouri sealed an impressive 2-1 victory.

Things couldn't have started any brighter for the Saints as James Ward-Prowse gave them the lead against Tottenham 12 minutes into the match, but four unanswered goals by Spurs condemned Ralph Hassenhutl's side to defeat.

Southampton were 1-0 winners in this fixture last season with the reverse fixture ending in a 1-1 draw, snapping a three-match winless run against Leeds in all competitions.

Team news

Southampton

Manager Ralph Hassenhutl confirmed that defender Lyanco missed training this week and is unavailable due to a knee injury.

Right-back Tino Livramento remains a long-term absentee as he continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in June.

Leeds United

The Whites will have Adam Forshaw, Liam Cooper summer signing Luis Sinisterra back from injury and Dan James returns from suspension.

Junior Firpo (knee), Luke Ayling (knee) and Stuart Dallas (thigh) are expected to return in the next few weeks.

Likely lineups

Southampton: Bazunu; Salisu, Bednarek, Stephens; Perraud, Romeu, Lavia, Ward-Prowse, Walker-Peters; Aribo, Armstrong

Leeds United: Meslier; Struijk, Llorente, Koch, Kristensen; Adams, Roca; Harrison, Rodrigo, Aaronson; Bamford

Key players

James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Last season's top scorer with 11 was amongst the goals against Tottenham on opening day and was the Saints best player in an otherwise dismal display in the English capital.

Brendan Aaronson (Leeds United)

Brilliant in his debut for the Whites and was initially credited with the match-winner until it was changed to an own goal. Kept Wolves under pressure the entire match and won the ball back to help set up the opening goal.
