Queens Park Rangers and Reading will both be looking to get into the automatic promotion spots when they meet each other on Friday evening.

Hosts QPR are currently fourth in the championship, just one point behind visitors Reading, following an impressive 0-1 victory over league leaders Sheffield United midweek, courtesy of a Chris Willock goal.

Reading however missed out on being level on points with the top two when they drew 1-1 with second placed Norwich City on Tuesday evening, a game which they arguably should have taken all three points from.

Team news

QPR are looking likely to have a near full squad available, but it is looking likely to be without star man Willock, after he limped off towards the end of  the game against Sheffield United with a problem with his hamstring.

Andy Yiadom could make a return for the Royals after missing out against Norwich through injury, but is still a doubt. Ovie Ejaria could also be in line to start after returning to the bench midweek.

Likely Lineups

QPR:

Dieng; Laird, Balogun, Dunne, Paal, Amos, Field, Dozzell, Roberts, Dykes, Chair.

Reading:

Lumley; Hutchinson, Holmes, McIntyre, Hoilett, Hendrick, Loum, Fornah, Guinness-Walker, Ince, Joao.

Key players

Ilias Chair

In the expected absence of Willock, Ilias Chair will be the one expected to lead Rangers' attacking threat. The Moroccan midfielder has the joint most direct goal involvements in the Championship so far this season, and can also pop one in from outside the area. He is one Reading should be looking to nullify.

The winger turned wing back has been in great form for the Royals of late, and won Man of the Match in their draw against Norwich. Defensively his game has improved a lot since moving into this role, but still maintains those attacking qualities like his crossing which has made him a lethal winger at this level for a number of years.
