The Cardinals were looking for pitching. Although they didn't grab an ace pitcher, Justin Masterson is one great grab. Masterson struggled in Cleveland, posting a 4-6 record with a 5.51 ERA.
The Indians received outfield prospect James Ramsey.
The Cardinals are still in the hunt for David Price from the Rays or Jon Lester from the Red Sox. Lester was scratched from Thursday's game in what seems to be for trade reasoning.
Masterson was scheduled to start on Friday, but instead he will make his debut Saturday against the Brewers. Masterson has been really good against right handers this season, with hitters hitting just .214. Against lefties has been a problem, with hitters hitting .330.
