Los Angeles Angles outfielder Josh Hamilton has been dealing with multiple injuries to his should, chest and rib cage during the last two months of the season. He will play in Game 1 against the Kansas City Royals. He will hit seventh and play left field in the American League Division Series.
He told manager Mike Scioscia that he is ready for action. Scioscia has relieved him of stress by dropping him significantly in the order.
The 33-year-old slugger has played in only one game since September 4 due to the multiple injuries listed above. He has received multiple cortisone shots to get himself healthy for the postseason.
During the 89 game regular season for the Angels, Hamilton slashed .263/.331/.414. He added 89 hits and 10 home runs while racking up 44 RBI's over that span. The former MVP has a 1.5 WAR, the worst since 2009.
