Bottom 9th, 0 Outs: Gordon Beckham up as a pinch hitter, Tim Collins and his great curveball replaces Davis on the mound.

Middle Of 9th: Pujols beats Cain to 1st, and to the Angels offense we go again. Royals not doing themselves any favors in this game.

Top Of 9th, 2 Out: Gets Aoki to pop out. The Royals pitching staff will be back out before we know it.

Top Of 9th, 1 Out: Huston Street, the former Padres and A's star, comes in and strikes out Escobar.

End Of 8th: You have to respect a guy like Wade Davis after something like that. You're battling against who will be the 2014 AL MVP, a former MVP, and one of the most consistent hitters of the Angels in the past few years. He escapes. Moxy.

Bottom 8th, 3 Outs: OUT OF DODGE!!!! WADE DAVIS COMES UP IN THE CLUTCH, AND SOMEHOW, THE ROYALS ARE STILL TIED WITH THE ANGELS! TO THE 9TH WE GO!

Bottom 8th, 2 Outs: MASSIVE out. Albert Pujols just missed it, pops out to center. Can they Royals escape disaster again?

Bottom 8th, 1 Out: Wild pitch by Davis, Perez can't find it, Iannetta to 2nd!

Bottom 8th, 1 Out: 0-2 to Trout right now, Mike looks very lackadaisical tonight.

Bottom 8th, 1 Out: Kole Calhoun showed bunt almost every time, when he finally got it, it ended in failure. Very poor way to take advantage of Wade Davis' follies.

Bottom 8th, 0 Outs: Wade Davis losing control, can't get pitches in the zone. Needs to calm down.

Bottom 8th, 0 Outs: Leadoff walk to Iannetta. Not a good situation to put yourself in, Wade Davis.

Bottom 8th, 0 Outs: Davis still out there. Iannetta up. Another homer coming?

Middle Of 8th: Angels have been more dominant in the pitching spectrum than the Royals. It feels like the Royals are hanging in this game by a thread, but the two are still tied.

Top 8th, 2 Out: Perez gets struck out, another bad night for him. Infante then flies out, and Joe Smith is in a groove.

Top 8th, 0 Outs: Joe Smith now out there for California. Perez up to bat.

End Of 7th: Norichika Aoki, former star of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in Japan, has a Golden Glove locked. Saved the Royals twice tonight. Him and Lorenzo Cain have been KC's All-Stars tonight.

Bottom 7th, 2 Outs: Wade Davis, a former starter, against CJ Cron now.

Bottom 7th, 1 Out: Finnegan allows a sacrifice by Aybar to get Freese to 2nd. Hamilton up.

Bottom 7th, 0 Outs: Brandon Finnegan comes out. He was dominant against the A's the other night, another big moment for him.

Bottom 7th, 0 Outs: Kelvin Herrera out! After David Freese is walked by him, he calls for a meeting at the mound, and he is took out for a hand injury. Big blow to the Royals' bullpen.

Bottom 7th, 0 Outs: Herrera maybe injured, his hand?

Bottom 7th, 0 Outs: Yes, Kelvin Herrera is now toeing the mound with his minute 1.41 ERA with him as well.

Bottom 7th, 0 Outs: Thinking that Ned Yost will take out Vargas and hand it over to the dominant KC bullpen.

Top 7th, 3 Outs: Dominance still for Mr. Weaver! 1-2-3! Easy peasy, we're in the 7th inning stretch.

End Of 6th: Will Vargas come back out there in the 7th? We shall see. For now, let's get back to Weaver.

End Of 6th: Unbelievable! Norichika Aoki, extends out and robs Pujols of a homer! KC defense, does it again!

Bottom 6th, 2 Outs: Walk to Pujols, Vargas in the danger zone.

Bottom 6th, 2 Outs: 3 balls to Pujols so far. You would think Albert is looking for a pitch to knock out of the park now.

Bottom 6th, 2 Outs: Big Fish Trout goes down again! Can one of the greatest postseason players ever in Pujols get it done?

Bottom 6th, 1 Out: Trout up, just the guy you want in this situation. He has been shut down by Jason Vargas tonight, however.

Top 6th, 3 Outs: Aoki K'd as well! Cain then pops out. Weaver made Kansas City look like kindergarteners in this frame.

Top 6th, 1 Out: Escobar K'd.

End Of 5th: Well, tied again. Still a bit of a pitching duel, just to occasional errors from the two. The rest of the game is certain to be entertaining.

Bottom 5th, 2 Outs: Vargas already calming down again. Just those occasional poorly placed breaking balls. All in all, he's pitching well, getting a lot of groundouts.

Bottom 5th, 1 Out: Erick Aybar with a bunt, BARELY out! Hosmer barely caught him.

Bottom 5th, 0 Outs: Long ball again by the Angels! Mr. October, David Freese, GONE!

Middle Of 5th: Weaver seems to not have full control on his breaking balls tonight, putting some of them in perfectly hittable position. Royals are also very talented with small ball. Hard to put them down.

Top 5th, 2 Outs: Sac Fly for Infante, and it's 2-1 Royals! They never quit.

Top 5th, 1 Out: Perez NEAR a home run! Hamilton kept his eye on it, good grab. Gordon now at 3rd, however.

Top 5th, 0 Outs: Perez and Weaver in a duel. Weaver and his long and lacy locks are loosing some control.

Top 5th, 0 Outs: Alex Gordon to center field, double! Mike Trout lost the ball in the air, was lucky to find it immediately as it hit the ground.

Bottom 4th, 3 Outs: Vargas K's Kendrick! Very impressive from the former Seattle Mariner. Vargas knows the AL West, as he was with the Seattle Mariners and these same LA Angels. He is showing it tonight.

Bottom 4th, 2 Outs: Poise for Jason Vargas. Quieting this packed Anaheim house.

Bottom 4th, 1 Outs: Vargas does not want to pitch to Mike Trout. However, gets a few pitches in the top-right corner of the zone, and Trout pops out.

Top 4th, 3 Outs: Billy Butler, known for his locally popular BBQ sauce, grounds out. 1-2-3 inning!

Top 4th, 2 Out: Jered Weaver has been getting a nice amount of strikeouts so far. K's Cain, then gets Hosmer to ground out.

Top 4th, 0 Outs: Heart of the Kansas City order up. Can Jered Weaver regain his control?

Bottom 3rd, 3 Outs: Calhoun grounds out, but we have a tied ball game. Vargas can fool you. It seems that he's in a groove, but all of the sudden he throws a horrendously placed breaking ball, and Iannetta does that.

Bottom 3rd, 2 Outs: Then again! Chris Iannetta! Home Run!!!!

Bottom 3rd, 2 Outs: Vargas has now got in a groove. Brilliant display.

Bottom 3rd, 1 Outs: Anaheim in need of a response, Hamilton, with his shaggy beard, up first. Hit STRAIGHT to Escobar, 1st out.

Top 3rd, 3 Outs: Weaver kind of gave that pitch to Escobar. Makes the Angels pay. However, Aoki has a hopper to 2nd, and we're heading to be bottom of the inning.

Bottom 2nd, 1 Outs: Howie Kendrick comes up as the clean-up hitter, hit lightly to 2nd, out at 1st.

9:06 PM  EST: First pitch upcoming! Weaver is toeing the mound.

9:00 PM EST: Weaver is expected to utilize his curveball a healthy portion of this game. Kansas City is one of the worst teams in all of baseball when faced against a curveball, and Weaver uses that pitch about 20% of the time.

Mike Moustakas and Mike Trout share a laugh before the game.

Eric Hosmer about to take a few practice swings to loosen up before the showdown with Anaheim.

Not entirely Angels fans tonight in Anaheim!

Erick Aybar and Howie Kendrick, the longtime Angels about to take the field again in the playoffs.

8:40 PM EST: Great drama in the Detroit-Baltimore game right now. We have coverage here!

8:30 PM EST: It is 8:30 on the east coast, 5:30 on the west coast, and we're nearing some more playoff baseball!

7:11 PM EST: The Angels are the clear favorites in this series. First, the Angels will have a healthy Mike Trout and Josh Hamilton. Having both of those two players healthy is a huge advantage. The Angels also have the home field advantage throughout the postseason due to having the best regular season record in the American League, and they have had a few days off whereas the Royals played on Tuesday. Those are all boons for the Angels, which is why they should win Game One. But do not count out the underdogs. The Royals have a never say die attitude, which will always keep them alive. This ALDS game is the seventh time these two teams have met up this season. The six games were split by both teams with the Royals outscoring the Angels 30-26.

7:10 PM EST: The offense for the Angels was great in the regular season. They placed first in runs (773), sixth in batting average (.259), seventh in on base percentage (.322) and fifth in slugging percentage (.406). The team is led by Mike Trout. The young superstar leads the team in home runs, RBI's, runs, and On Base Plus Slugging. He has 36 home runs, 111 RBI's, 115 runs, and a .939 On Base Plus Slugging percentage. Howie Kendrick leads the team in batting average. The veteran hit .293 in the regular season.

7:09 PM EST: Huston Street leads the Angels with 17 saves. He came over right before the trade deadline.

7:08 PM EST: During his regular season, Weaver pitched 213.1 innings and allowed 87 runs (85 earned). He struck out 169 and only waked 65. Weaver worked for a 1.21 WHIP and opponents hit only .239 against him. He went 18-9 with a 3.59 ERA. The pitcher of eight years, will look to guide his team to a successful start to the postseason.

7:07 PM EST: There has been good news recently for the Angels. One of their outfielders, Josh Hamilton announced that he is ready for the American League Division Series. Also, Matt Shoemaker said he "felt great" after a bullpen session on Sunday. He should be ready to take the mound in Game 3 after C.J. Wilson takes the mound for Game 2 of the series. Hamilton will play in Game 1. He said, "I feel good, just like yesterday. I ran, threw, faced a lot of pitching, so I'm good to go," Hamilton said. "There's always pain, but the point is that I'm not having muscle spasms. It's been responding well every day. I didn't have any spasms after I finished, so I'll see how it responds tomorrow," he said.

7:06 PM EST: The Royals will send Jason Vargas to the mound to face the expensive Angels lineup. During the regular season, Vargas went 11-10 with a 3.71 ERA. This was a huge bounce back season for the lefty who has a losing record in his career and a 4.20 ERA. Jason Vargas had this to say about pitching the game, "You know, I feel great," Vargas said, "It's a lot of trust put in me, so I feel good about it. The fact that it's a team that I played for before and played for last year, I think all of us have friends throughout baseball, so when we get in between the lines, it's just us vs. them."

7:05 PM EST: Hosmer, Billy Butler, and Lorenzo Cain all stepped up in the Wild Card game on Tuesday, look for that to transpire over to the next series. Cain went 2 for 6 with two RBI's and two runs scored. Butler ripped the ball early and ended up going 2 for 4 with two RBI's. Hosmer led the team going 3 for 4 with two walks and one RBI. Earlier in the game, the Royals had a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning. James Shields was pulled from the game after tossing 86 pitches and allowing runners to reach first and second. Yordano Ventura came in and gave up a quick three run shot to Moss. That started the downhill slide for the Royals, until they came back in the late innings.

7:04 PM EST: Quotes from the A's-Royals thriller:

"They finally got ahead there in the 30th inning or whatever it was," said Brandon Moss, who drove in five runs with two homers for Oakland. "That was definitely the best baseball game I've ever been a part of."

"This will go down as the craziest game I've ever played," said Hosmer, who sparked the final Royals rally with a one-out triple. "This team showed a lot of character. No one believed in us before the game. No one believed in us before the season."

"That's the most incredible game I've ever been a part of," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "Our guys never quit. We fell behind there in the fifth inning, sixth inning. They kept battling back. They weren't going to be denied. It was just a great game."

7:03 PM EST: In the Wild Card game, the Athletics jumped out to a quick 7-3 start. However, that did not stop the Royals from chipping away. The Royals scored three runs in the eighth and Nori Aoki hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth off Sean Doolittle to send the game to extra innings. After the Athletics scored in the top of the 12th inning, Eric Hosmer scored the game tying run on a infield single from rookie Christain Colon. Salvador Perez was 0 for 5 until he stepped to the plate in the 12th inning. He ripped a shot past Athletics third baseman Josh Donaldson. Colon scored and the Royals rushed the field because they were headed to the American League Division Series.

7:02 PM EST: The Los Angeles Angels will invite the Kansas City Royals to California to play Game 1 of this five game American League Division Series at 9:07 PM ET. Kansas City won in the Wild Card matchup to get to this point. The Angels will send out their ace Jered Weaver, 18-9 in the regular season, to take the mound against the Royals. He will be matched by Jason Vargas, 11-10 in the regular season.
