For those who may have thought last week’s visual of Josh Koscheck (17-9) would be the last we saw is far from the truth. After losing by a submission and creating one of the more popular meme in recent UFC history Koscheck returns on short notice to fight the always dangerous Erick Silva (17-5). Silva was in need of a new opponent after Ben Saunders was forced out due to injury. Benson Henderson was calling for this fight to make his second appearance at 170 but it looks as if he will just have to wait.

The match between the welterweight competitors will be the co main for UFC Fight Night 62 which takes place on March 21st from the Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The six bout main card will take place on Fox Sports 1 while the prelims will on Fox Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.

Hopefully the eye situation has improved for Josh as it was one of the things that clearly took him out of the last match. Josh still has a few fights left on his newly signed contract so it looks as if he has no intention of not satisfying his agreement.

Erick Silva is one of those fighters that many feel is hard to figure out as we are usually unsure who will show up. Silva has always had the tools to be one of the top fighters in the 170 division but just has not been able to mount a successful streak. After almost finishing Matt Brown to end up being finished himself, that one fight shows a parallel for his career. After the loss he came out and submitted Mike Rhodes so it looks as if his back and forth career will live on. If the right Erick shows up this will be a helluva co main event.
