The highly anticipated matchup for the lightweight title between champion Will Brooks and contender Dave Jansen has now been finalized. The stacked card will see 13 exciting matches and has two new additions to make the card complete. Those additions include a battle in the heavyweight division between Alexander Volkov (24-4) and Tony Johnson (8-2). There have also been six matches that have been added for the preliminary round featuring a match in the featherweight division between Fabricio Guerreiro (20-3) and John Teixeira (17-1-2).
Additional new preliminary contests added to the lineup include a 150-pound catchweight contest of Cleber Luciano (10-5) vs. Aaron "Blood Spiller" Miller (14-9), bantamweights Chad "Savage" George (15-8) vs. Mark Vorgeas (5-2-1), middleweights Ben Jones (4-4) vs. Luc Bondole (4-1-1), welterweights John "Johnny Merc" Mercurio (6-7) vs. Greg Parker (4-1), and featherweights Marcos "Murder Marx" Bonilla (1-1) vs. A.J. McKee (0-0).
Tony Johnson fights out of AKA and is making his first return back to the Bellator promotion since 2011. He is currently 4-1 in his last five fights including notching victories in the Tennessee promotion V3 and overseas for OneFC now One Championships. Alexander Volkov is a name that is becoming synonymous with the heavyweight division. His only loss in the Bellator promotion is to now champion Vitaly Minakov. He looks to make another run for the title with a victory here.
Bellator: Brooks vs. Jansen takes place on Friday, April 10, at Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif.
