After losing in the first round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks have re-tooled for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. Dallas committed itself to finding more weapons to put alongside All-Star Dirk Nowitzki, and they achieved what they wanted this off-season.

The Mavericks traded to bring back big man Tyson Chandler, who won a title with Dallas back in 2011 before jumping to the New York Knicks. At age 31, Chandler is inching toward the final years of his career. However, the 7'1 bigman out of Manuel Dominguez High School still has quality basketball left in him. Chandler averaged nine points and 10 rebounds for the New York Knicks last season and with 13 years of NBA experience under his belt, he brings veteran leadership to the Mavericks.

The Mavs also made a splash in costless-agency, landing Houston small forward Chandler Parsons. At age 25 Parsons has already made himself into a solid NBA player, he averaged 17 points and six rebounds with the Houston Rockets last season. Parsons will team up with Dirk Nowitzki to add a scoring punch for a Dallas team that already averaged 105 points per game during the 82-game regular season.

Jameer Nelson and Raymond Felton also have been key additions to this Dallas club. While Nelson may be past his best years he is still a threat from deep and can drive it to the basket at will when he wants to. Felton, who is facing a four-game suspension for pleading guilty for gun charges, will help that Dallas backcourt with his solid play. If Felton can match his 10 points and six assists that he had last season, he can be a good assett coming off of the bench.

The Dallas Mavericks have added multiple threats in order to get back into the championship race, and with Dirk Nowitzki still on their side, it's entirely possible to see the Mavs making a deep playoff run.
