The Los Angeles Lakers have announced on their official website that they have officially signed rookie guard Jordan Clarkson. The full terms of his contract have not been disclosed.

Clarkson turned heads during the Las Vegas Summer League averaging a team-high 15.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He also had a game-winning tip-in against the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers add Clarkson as their fourth point guard on the roster. A few weeks ago, they signed Keith Appling to a non-guaranteed deal. However, Clarkson is more than likely to make the team over Appling.

Los Angeles acquired Jordan Clarkson on draft night from the Washington Wizards. Clarkson was selected 46th overall and has been proving everyone that he should have been taken earlier.

Jordan Clarkson is a high energy, enthusiastic player and a willing learner as described by associate head coach Mark Madsen. "I think Jordan Clarkson had a tremendous summer league," Madsen told Lakers.com after the conclusion of the summer league. "I think he was one of the top players, not only on the Lakers team, but here at the Las Vegas Summer League. I loved Jordan Clarkson's energy, I loved his enthusiasm for the game and I loved his ability to learn."

Clarkson may not only earn a spot on the Lakers roster this upcoming season, but play a backup point guard role, depending on Steve Nash’s health.

With Clarkson finally signing with Los Angeles, the Lakers roster now stands at 14.
