The Sacramento Kings will trade Jason Terry and two future second-round picks to the Houston Rockets for Alonzo Gee and possibly other non-guaranteed players, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Jason Terry, the former Dallas Maverick and one-time NBA champion, did not play a single game for the Sacramento Kings. He was traded to the Kings from the Brooklyn Nets midway through last season along with Reggie Evans for Marcus Thornton.

Terry, 36, chose to rehab his knee instead of play for the Kings. He did, however, play 35 games for the Nets before being traded. He averaged 4.5 points and 1.6 assists per game.

The Rockets have been looking to shore up their bench, and Terry could provide leadership and three-point shooting for their second unit.

Alonzo Gee, who has a non-guaranteed contract, will go to Sacramento where he will likely be waived. This is the third time this off-season that Gee has been dealt. He started the summer off on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster, and then he was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. He was later shipped to the Rockets as part of the Omer Asik deal.

On Sunday morning, there were reports that Rajon Rondo wants out of Boston, and the Sacramento Kings have had plenty of interest in the Boston Celtics point guard. Perhaps, Sacramento is now trying to make moves to clear cap room and collect assets to engage the Celtics in a possible Rondo trade. That idea is not too far-fetched.

However, we will see what happens as training camp approaches. Nonetheless, the Kings, who have always wanted to unload Jason Terry’s $5.4 million expiring contract, will get the job done.
