Twin brothers Markieff and Marcus Morris are closing in on a contract extension with the Phoenix Suns. A deal may be announced as soon as Monday, according to Marc Stein of ESPN. Both twins are eligible for contract extensions until October 31st.

The extensions are likely to be for four years and could be worth anywhere from $20-30 million for each twin.

The Morris twins were an enormous source of offense last season for the Suns bench. Marcus Morris averaged 9.7 points and 3.9 rebounds on 38.1 percent three-point shooting. Markieff Morris averaged 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Markieff was a candidate for the sixth man of the year award.

Both twins played together in college at Kansas but were drafted by different teams in 2011. Marcus went to the Houston Rockets, while Markieff landed with the Suns. Marcus was traded to Phoenix during the 2012-2013 NBA season.

The Morris twins are absolutely worthy of a contract extension. The Suns most recently re-signed Eric Bledsoe to a five-year deal and plan to keep Goran Dragic long-term to set up for a long, bright future.
