Dwyane Wade started off strong, as he scored the first 10 Miami points to help his team down the Brooklyn Nets on the road. A rare problem happened by the 1:47 mark of the first quarter as a water leak delayed the game by 29 minutes. That stoppage time would serve the Nets no advantage, as the Heat was still able to build on their lead and keep the momentum going. It was a high scoring first quarter as Miami was on top, 33-25. During much of the second quarter, the Heat was able to expand their lead, but the Nets responded well towards the end with excellent shot making. The lead at halftime was in favor of Miami as they were up, 55-45.

Turnovers were hurting the Nets in the first half, as they had 12 at the time. They also had a cold streak going on, as they had missed eight straight shots during the second quarter. Mason Plumlee had 13 points after the first two quarters while Wade had 17. A much better start occurred in the third quarter for Brooklyn, as they began on an 8-0 run, which would lead to the opposing team to take an early timeout. That didn’t seem to play much of a factor, however, as the Nets continued to build their path to comeback by expanding the run to 12-0 by the 8:35 mark of the third. Miami then began to get it together, as they went up by six at the 4:52 mark. The Heat went on a 10-3 run to close the quarter and some Deja Vu for Brooklyn, as they would be down by 10 once again. Sergey Karasev suffered an injury in third quarter and did not return to the game.

In the final 12 minutes of the game, Brooklyn tried to make one last comeback. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Nets cut the lead down to just eight, but two careless turnovers in the final two minutes hurt Brooklyn. However, with 35 seconds left, it was just a two-point game and victory was within reach for the Nets. Bojan Bogdanovic would then commit a loose ball foul and since Brooklyn was over the limit, two costless throws were awarded to Luol Deng. He was able to convert on both costless throw attempts, and that would seal the deal.

Wade finished the night with 28 points. Deron Williams achieved a double-double once again with 15 points and 11 assists. Joe Johnson concluded the night with 16 points. Plumlee had a strong night as well with 21 points and nine boards. The Nets will now look to bounce back against the Toronto Raptors within the next 24 hours. For Miami, their next matchup will also be tomorrow night, as they take on the Utah Jazz.
