After a huge scare during last night’s Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers, an MRI on DeMarre Carroll’s left knee reveals no structural damage, Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports announces. Carroll is considered day-to-day.

Carroll hurt his knee during the late stages of Atlanta’s 97-89 loss in Game 1. He drove the lane, got fouled, and immediately dropped to the floor in agony. Carroll’s body language had the entire Philips Arena worried, as he was carried off the floor without putting any pressure on his knee.

Many believed Carroll may have torn something in his knee, but it turns out to be just a bone bruise, fortunately for the Hawks.

Carroll has been the most consistent player for Atlanta during these playoffs, averaging 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds on 51.3 percent shooting. They also need his defense and size on LeBron James in these conference finals.

Game 2 will take place on Friday in Atlanta where DeMarre Carroll will be questionable to play, as the Hawks look to even the series at one.
