The Utah Utes (3-0) defeated the Michigan Wolverines (2-2). This is an upset as a weaker Pac-12 team made the better known Big Ten squad look silly. Michigan took a 3-0 lead and Utah matched that score. The first half ended with the Utes holding a 13-10 lead. After that, everything went downhill for Michigan and uphill for Utah. They ended up scoring 13 un-answered points against the Maize and Blue. They embarrassed the Wolverines. This game took extra long because of a thunderstorm that occured during the fourth quarter.

The Utes offense was led by none other than Travis Wilson. He completed 14 passes out of 20 attempts for a total of 172 yards. He also added a touchdown to his resume. His main receiver was Bubba Poole who caught three passes for 75 yards. Dres Anderson added six catches for 57 yards and one touchdown. Bubba Poole had nine carries for only 40 yards. It was a rough day running the ball for the Utes.

New offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was supposed to rejuvenate the Wolverine offense this year, but the Wolverines struggled again in this game. The issues were led by Devin Gardner who went 14 for 27, only 148 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Devin Funchess has not gotten a lot of receptions lately, but today, he had four catches for 82 yards. The run game began to shine a little bit for Derrick Green. He ran 14 times for 59 yards, but did not score. Shane Morris came in late under center, but he wasn't any better than Gardner, completing 4 of 13 passes for 42 yards and one interception.

The Wolverines need to step it up and so will Brady Hoke if he wants to keep his job. Right now, it is not looking to good for him because Michigan is off to a 2-2 start. He is most certainly on the hot seat.
