7:20 PM EST: LSU wins the toss, defers to the second half.

7:16 PM EST: Death Valley is PACKED.

7:15 PM EST: One of the great rivalries about to start! LSU vs. Ole Miss! Here we go!

7:11 PM EST: Just as I say that, the Bulldogs return an onside kick for a touchdown.  No upset looming there it appears.

7:10 PM EST: Surprising game going down right now...Kentucky just scored a touchdown, and Mississippi State is only up by 7 now with 2:31 left.  Keep an eye on the Wildcats!

6:59 PM EST: There hasn't been any upsets today, could LSU provide the only one of the day? 21 minutes until kickoff.

6:55 PM EST: LSU is trying to avoid the Magnolia State sweep, losing to Mississippi State earlier in the season.  Tiger Stadium is filling in quickly as kickoff looms.

6:36 PM EST: Heavy hearts for Les Miles tonight, who's mother passed away last night.  Prayers to the Miles family.

4:55 PM EST: This matchup is so intriguing.  On paper Ole Miss has it in the bag, but as Les Miles says, Death Valley is "where dreams come to die."  Usually its Ole Miss trying to spoil LSU's title hopes, my how the tables have turned.  With LSU out of the title discussion, the Tigers are looking for payback for all those years.  This will be fun!

4:45 PM EST: Then there's LSU.  The Bayou Bengals have definitely been nothing more than disappointing this year.  Whether it's the constant question at the quarterback position, or their porous defense, LSU is in a position it hasn't been in for a while.  They have no quality wins to show for, only a devastating loss to Mississippi State at home, and an embarrassing blow out defeat at the hands of the Auburn Tigers.  With two consecutive wins over SEC opponents, can LSU start a little momentum and stun the #3 Rebels?

4:40 PM EST: Ole Miss has definitely been putting it on their opponents this year.  They've proved they're the real deal with that come from behind win against the Alabama Crimson Tide a few weeks back.  Then a week later, they completely destroyed Texas A&M's defense.  They are coming off an impressive 34-3 win over a decent Tennessee club.

4:37 PM EST: On the other hand, the LSU Tigers have struggled this year; there's no other way to put it.  I have followed the Tigers for many years, and this might just be the worst in some time.  They do have an excuse; however, because they are the youngest team in college football. Not only that, the Tigers have some of the most intriguing up and coming players that will make them strong for the next couple of years...just not right now. Head coach Les Miles has made a culture of pounding the ball, and it's no different this year. Expect Leonard FournetteTerrence Magee, and Kenny Hilliard to be getting a lot of touches.  LSU has had no identity whatsoever at quarterback this season with Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris both struggling. The method to winning for the Tigers this year: run the ball and pray the QB don't mess up.  Will it work on the formidable Ole Miss defense? It's Death Valley at night, folks...ANYTHING can happen.

4:26 PM EST: Coach Hugh Freeze has turned the program around and given quarterback Bo Wallace a new sense of confidence. His stats this year are much improved since the past two years; he has thrown for almost 1,900 yards so far this season (17 TD, 6 INT). By throwing the ball so well, Wallace has not had to run it as much, thus protecting him.  Expect Ole Miss to air the ball out on this young LSU defense who has struggled all year long; however, showed some muscle last week by holding a Kentucky offense to 3 points.  Can they prove that wasn't a fluke?

4:17 PM EST: This game is between two teams who are not used to the position they are in. If someone was to say there was a matchup in Death Valley between the #3 team in the county and an unranked team, one would surely think the LSU Tigers were the third ranked team...not the case! The high flying #3 Ole Miss Rebels are hungry for an SEC championship and are a formidable team heading into Baton Rouge

4:06 PM EST: Good afternoon! Welcome to Baton Rouge, LA and VAVEL USA's LIVE coverage of a pivotal matchup of two SEC rivals: the Ole Miss Rebels vs. the LSU Tigers. I, Kaleb Isenhour, will be along for the ride and updating you on this fine match.
