4th (00:00) That is the end of the game. Kansas State stays undefeated in the Big 12, defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys 48-14.

4th (00:27) The game ends fittingly, on a loss of yardage on a run play for Oklahoma State.

4th (3:25) OSU can't convert on 3rd and 1, losing yardage again. Kip Smith will punt for ninth time tonight.

4th (4:43) Oklahoma State is also seemingly resigned to running the ball and running off clock at this point.

4th (4:49) This time the kickoff is caught in the endzone by Brandon Sheperd, but he takes a knee and we have another touchback.

4th Quarter: McCrane is 8 for 8 on field goals this season.

4th (4:55) The third down pass is incomplete. The displayed game clock did not move on that play.

4th (4:55) Hubener passes on second down to stop the clock and set up a third and long. Interesting play call, to say the least.

4th (6:11) Joe Hubener picks up a big first down on the ground to keep the clock moving. First down at the 38 of Oklahoma State.

4th (6:58) The Wildcats are just keeping it on the ground now, trying to run off the clock. It's third down.

4th (7:41) Tyler Lockett has a great kick return up to the 45 yard line, which is where Kansas State will take over.

4th (7:48) Ramon Richards intercepts the pass from Hubener and takes it back for a touchdown. The Ben Grogan  extra point is good and it is now 45-14, KSU leading OSU in Manhattan.

4th (7:58) The Wildcats are still trying to push the ball downfield. Joe Hubener throws a short out route and defensive pass interference is called. 1st and 10 K-State.

4th Quarter: Waters finishes with 223 yards on 19/28 passing with 2 touchdowns, to give him 11 on the year.

4th (10:24) Jake Waters is done for the day, Joe Hubener is in at quarterback.

4th Quarter: Daxx Garman's officially rushing statistics for today: 8 rushes for -21 yards.

4th (10:27) The Cowboys punt and Tyler Lockett calls for a fair catch at the 36 yard line.

4th (11:06) Jordan Willis sacks Daxx Garman again. The offensive line play for Oklahoma State has been nothing short of awful today.

4th (12:23) And for the 9th time in 10 drives, OSU has a negative play. Hill loses four on the outside run.

4th (12:46) Tyreek Hill reaches the 37 on a run on second down and now they have a fresh set.

4th (13:28) The kickoff goes out of the endzone once more and Oklahoma State will start at the 25.

4th (13:28) Charles Jones has his second touchdown of the day out of the Wildcat and Kansas State is dismantling the Cowboys now. After the extra point it is now 38-7.

4th (13:55) Curry Sexton's big day continues, as he picks up 28 on the catch and run on the pass from Jake Waters. First and Goal for the Wildcats.

4th Quarter: Sheperd now has a bad drop and a fumble to go with it today.

4th (14:47) Daxx Garman makes a nice throw to Brandon Sheperd for a first down, but Sheperd fumbles the ball right to K-State's Jonathan Truman. It's Kansas State ball again.

3rd Quarter: Jake Waters' passer rating continues to rise, as it's now up to 151.8 for the day. Daxx Garman's has remained steady, moving up marginally to 85.4.

3rd Quarter: Kansas State has converted on 3 of 8 third downs, Oklahoma State has converted on 3 of 10.

3rd Quarter: Total yardage for OSU: 238; for KSU: 272.

3rd (00:00) The third quarter is over and so is this match-up, for all intents and purposes. Kansas State is dominating Oklahoma State 31-7.

3rd (00:07) David Glidden has had a quietly productive day, picking up 13 and a first on third and long. They have it at the 47.

3rd (1:07) Tyreek Hill returns the kick to the 34 yard line. Here comes Daxx Garman and the offense for Oklahoma State.

3rd Quarter: Matthew McCrane has not missed a kick since being named the team's official kicker (7 for 7).

3rd (1:13) Matthew McCrane kicks in a 38 yard field goal and the lead is extended yet again. We have a blowout in Manhattan tonight. 31-7 Wildcats.

3rd (1:18) Despite a first down at the Oklahoma State 21, Waters and the Wildcats offense can't move the ball any more.

3rd (3:13) Jake Waters connects deep down the field with Tyler Lockett and if he didn't trip, it was a surefire touchdown. Great catch by Lockett on a slight overthrow and K-State is in business again.

3rd (4:01) No return on that punt as Lockett is stopped in his tracks immediately. Kansas State will still start with reasonable field position.

3rd (4:40) Garman is sacked yet again and the struggles continue for the Cowboys. Fourth down and a punt upcoming.

3rd (5:28) A microchosm of Oklahoma State's night: Daxx Garman had Brandon Sheperd wide open but the pass was dropped. Second down.

3rd (5:32) Tyreek Hill gets nailed right after catching the punt and he goes nowhere. Poor starting field position for the Cowboys again, as this drive will begin at their own 16 yard line.

3rd (6:07) On 3rd and 17, the Wildcats are able to pick up 15 but it's not quite enough and they will punt. Deandre Burton had that last catch.

3rd (6:48) Emmanuel Ogbah picks up his conference-leading ninth sack of the season, taking down Jake Waters on second down.

3rd Quarter: In another major game in the Big 12 today, TCU hit a game-winning field goal as time expired to knock off West Virginia  in Morgantown. They'll likely stay ranked above K-State, regardless of our outcome in this game tonight.

3rd (7:34) Tyler Lockett nets 4 yards on the return and the Wildcats will start at their own 34.

3rd (7:45) On 3rd and 16, Garman throws deep to James Washington but it is underthrown. Kip Smith will punt again for OSU.

3rd (9:05) Garman gets sacked for a huge loss. It's going to be 2nd and 20. The O-line for Oklahoma State has not played well at all tonight.

3rd (9:33) David Glidden makes the catch and Oklahoma State now has a first down at the 31.

3rd (10:15) Very little on the return for the Cowboys and they will start deep in their own end once more.

3rd Quarter: Jake Waters' passer rating is now 144.3 for the day. Daxx Garman's, by comparison, is 82.8.

3rd Quarter: That is Lockett's fifth catch of the day and his fifth touchdown reception on the season.

3rd (10:19) Jake Waters finds Tyler Lockett in the front of the endzone and they connect for a touchdown, Waters' second TD pass of the game. The extra point is through and the lead is now 21 for K-State.

3rd (10:50) They are at the 20 yard line after an 18 yard catch and run by Tyler Lockett, 1st and 10 Wildcats.

3rd (11:21) The hot streak continues for Jones as he bounces off defenders and is finally spun to the groundat the OSU 38 with a first down.

3rd (11:57) Jones picks up good yardage on first and long on a wham play up the middle.

3rd (12:23) False Start is called against the Wildcats, so they'll back up 5 yards.

3rd (12:51) Charles Jones converts on third down on a halfback dive and K-State has a fresh set of downs.

3rd (14:25) Jake Waters connects with Deante Burton for a first down at the 40.

3rd (15:00) The second half kickoff goes out of the endzone and Kansas State will start at their own 25.

1st Half: Kansas State will be receiving the second half kickoff.

1st Half: The Cowboys' leading receiver in the first half was Tyreek Hill, who had just 1 catch but it went for 34 yards. Curry Sexton is K-State's leading receiver, with 4 receptions for 43 yards and a score.

1st Half: Oklahoma State ran for 103 yards in the first half (115 total by the running backs) led by Tyreek Hill (14 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown). Kansas State had 65 rushing yards in the first half, with Jake Waters being the leading rusher (7 carries, 37 yards).

1st Half: K-State leads OSU by two scores at the half, yet the Cowboys outgained the Wildcats in total yardage 213-142 in the first half.

2nd Quarter: That is Garman's second interception of the game so far, this one credited to Dylan Schellenberg.

2nd (00:00) Strange clock management leads to Hail Mary to end the half. The ball is intercepted in the endzone and the half is over. Kansas State leads Oklahoma State at home, 21-7.

2nd (00:08) The Cowboys gain 13 yards and call their last timeout with the ball just across midfield.

2nd (00:13) With minimal time and a somewhat long field, Daxx Garman  airs it out but the first down pass is incomplete.

2nd (00:20) The punt is partially blocked but actually kills a great deal of clock, as it falls behind the downfield returners and blockers.

2nd (00:31) Oklahoma State calls a timeout after the screen pass by the Wildcats fails and they are forced into a punting situation.

2nd (00:44) Waters runs around in no man's land before scrambling out of bounds for a minimal gain. It's third down.

2nd Quarter: The penalty call was very iffy, a close call on a very bang-bang play. Nonetheless, OSU continues to struggle.

2nd (1:16) Waters' pass is intercepted by Oklahoma State but it is negated by a Roughing the Passer penalty. Kansas State keeps the ball.

2nd (2:06) Tyler Lockett returns the punt to the 24 yard line. The Wildcats offense is coming back out.

2nd (2:16) Bill Snyder calls a timeout to talk to his team about the upcoming possession. It's the first timeout of the half for KSU.

2nd (3:07) Tyreek Hill loses yardage with a bad decision in the backfield, however holding is called against Oklahoma State and they lose yards anyway. It's now 2nd and 14.

2nd (3:34) Daxx Garman gains 7 on a broken play, they're at their own 48 now.

2nd (3:44) The call on the field stands due to inconclusive evidence. Oklahoma State ball after a very short punt.

2nd Quarter: If Kansas State touched the ball first, it is Cowboys ball automatically. If Oklahoma State touched it first, it becomes a live ball and whichever team recovered it will get possession.

2nd (3:44) The result of the punt is under review.

2nd (3:44) The punt takes a wild bounce and hits a player, which results in a dog pile on top of the ball, however Kansas State was the first team to touch the ball so OSU will maintain possession.

2nd (4:29) Waters tries to run for the 1st down on 3rd and 1 but he is stuffed at the line and the Wildcats will punt again.

2nd (5:10) Kip Smith's punt goes into the endzone for a touchback. Jake Waters  and K-State will start at the 20.

2nd (5:44) Hill runs for positive yardage but isn't even close to the line to gain and OSU has to punt again.

2nd (6:58) Tyreek Hill now loses yardage and it's 3rd and 30.

2nd (7:14) Another huge chunk of yardage is lost as Garman and Rennie Childs botch a handoff exchange and the ball is fumbled. OSU recovers their own fumble. It's second and long.

2nd (7:22) Holding is called against the Cowboys and they'll now have 2nd and 20.

2nd (7:36) James Washington catches a pass on a slant route and they get the first down.

2nd (7:42) Oklahoma State calls timeout, their first of the half.

2nd (7:42) Garman loses control of a pass and seemingly just drops it forward. Third and long is coming up.

2nd (8:12) The 37 is where the Cowboys will start after the punt and no return from Hill.

2nd (8:19) Oklahoma State brings four with pressure and they force an incompletion. Kansas State will punt.

2nd (9:15) Lockett has a great return up to the 35 yard line but it is negated due to a penalty. They'll start at their own 18.

2nd (9:27) Garman throws an incomplete pass on 3rd and 13, following a sack. They will punt to Tyler Lockett and K-State.

2nd (11:19) Tyreek Hill makes a fantastic move to reverse field and pick up a huge gain, all the way to the 45 for a first down. He has left the game again, however. He was limping off of the field.

2nd (11:51) Hill makes an immediate impact, converting on third and one for a first down.

2nd Quarter: Tyreek Hill has returned from his earlier injury.

2nd (12:43) Jhajuan Seales inadvertently takes a knee on the kickoff and Oklahoma State will start with awful field position, their own 11.

2nd Quarter: Kansas State now has had two drives of ten plays, each resulting in a score.

2nd Quarter: Sexton now has 4 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. Jake Waters is now 7/11 for 70 yards and a score.

2nd (12:46) The call is confirmed. Touchdown Wildcats. McCrane's extra point is good and K-State has a two touchdown lead.

2nd (12:46) Curry Sexton makes a fantastic catch on a great throw by Waters and the Kansas State Wildcats put up six more. The play is under review, however.

2nd (13:25) Jake Waters sneaks through the pile for 1st down on 3rd and 1.

2nd (14:54) Curry Sexton catches another pass to start the 2nd quarter, and after the run he picks up a first down at the 28.

1st Quarter: Daxx Garman completed 6/9 passes for 85 yards and an interception. Jake Waters went 5/8 for 46 yards for the Wildcats.

1st Quarter: Total yardage in the first period of play: Oklahoma State - 137 yards, Kansas State - 93 yards.

1st (1:45) Jake Waters finds Zach Trujillo out of the backfield and they pick up 13 on the little slip screen.

1st (1:56) The ball rolls out at the Kansas State 31. It was a bad punt that took a very fortunate bounce for the Cowboys.

1st (2:37) Daxx Garman is sacked on third and long and Oklahoma State cannot convert. The punt team is coming out.

1st (3:03) It appears that the injury is to Hill's lower leg. He's walking off under his own power. Very good sign.

1st (3:03) Tyreek Hill is down on the field injured. Not sure what the injury is at this point. Timeout on the field.

1st (4:04) David Glidden catches a pass on first down for 10 yards and picks up another first down for the Cowboys.

1st (4:16) Tyreek Hill lets the kickoff bounce through the endzone. Oklahoma State will start at the 25.

1st (4:16) Charles Jones runs it in for a score out of the Wildcat formation and K-State is on top. The extra point is good, and the Wildcats lead 14-7.

1st (4:19) Kansas State has a costless play due to an offsides call, and Oklahoma State commits defensive pass interference on the back end. Offsides is declined, DPI is accepted. First and goal at the 6.

1st (4:25) The call is confirmed, it will be second down.

1st (4:25) The incomplete pass is under review.

1st (4:25) There's a man open in the endzone but Waters overthrows him slightly. Second down coming up.

1st Quarter: That return for Burns was officially 86 yards.

1st (11:36) On the ensuing kickoff, Kansas State responds to the OSU score with one of their own. It's Morgan Burns, not Tyler Lockett, who gets the kickoff return TD. It's 7-7 in Manhattan.

1st Quarter: That drive saw the Cowboys sticking to their strength: running the ball. Only two passes on that drive, compared to five rushes.

1st Quarter: Tyreek Hill is the featured back for Oklahoma State tonight due to a death in the family for their normal starter, Desmond Roland. Are thoughts and condolences are with his family tonight.

1st (11:48) Tyreek Hill takes a draw play down to the 3 yard line, then runs it in for a touchdown on the very next play for OSU. They take an early lead and the Wildcats are looking for answers already. After Ben Grogan's extra point, it's 7-0 Oklahoma State.

1st Quarter: Kickoff will officially be at 7:12 PM local time (CDT).

1st Quarter: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to VAVEL USA's coverage of Big 12 football, as tonight the Oklahoma State Cowboys visit the Kansas State Wildcats.

7:00 PM EST: This is a must-win game for the Kansas State Wildcats if they want to keep their hopes alive for the College Football Playoff. With their incredibly difficult upcoming schedule, they must play well and have confidence going into their big match-ups with West Virginia, TCU and Baylor. If the Oklahoma State Cowboys are able to pull the upset, it would truly do more for the other contending teams in the conference than it would for themselves. Already out of contention and with only one game remaining against a team in the hunt for the playoff (at Baylor in their second to last game), they would be more assisting TCU, WVU and the aforementioned Bears than benefitting their own resumé. This game will either clear up the Big 12 landscape and narrow down the true contenders, or it will just muddy it up even more.

6:30 PM EST: You never know what you'll get with college kickers, but these two teams are fairly sound in that category. The Wildcats were having some issues earlier in the year when Jack Cantele was kicking, but ever since Bill Snyder switched to Matthew McCrane, they have not missed an extra point or a field goal (however his long for the season is only 38 yards). Oklahoma State's Ben Grogan is one of the country's best kickers, hitting 78.3% of his field goal attempts this season (and ignoring one miss on one attempt over 50 yards, he is converting on 81.8% of his tries).

6:00 PM EST: Defensive End Emmanuel Ogbah is the conference's sack leader, and he will need to have a big day for OSU. Jake Waters of course is a competent passer, but with the ever present threat of running the ball, Ogbah will need to effectively play a combination of pass rushing and containment throughout the evening. Linebacker Josh Furman, who has 5 sacks himself this season, will need to assist his defensive line in a big way with the pass rush today.

5:30 PM EST: Jonathan Truman is the leading tackler for Kansas State and will likely have a big impact on tonight's game. Averaging 9.7 tackles per game (tied for 3rd best in the Big 12), you can expect him to see a lot of action in today's game, assuming that Oklahoma State remains fairly committed to the ground game (they had 39 total rushes as a team in last week's game).

5:20 PM EST: Despite a team average of 5.0 yards per carry last week against West Virginia, the running backs for Oklahoma State averaged just 4.24 yards per carry (the team stats were inflated by a big run on a reverse by WR Brandon Sheperd). While the running backs corps had a decent day, they will need to perform at an even higher level against K-State. The Wildcats have the ability to score with a slower, steadier approach or with the big play, mostly thanks to Tyler Lockett. OSU will need to perform well on the ground to wear out the Wildcats defense and add some extra pressure to the offense. It will also serve to help Daxx Garman in case he struggles again passing the ball.

5:10 PM EST: This game starts off an incredibly difficult stretch for Kansas State to end the season, who aside from a home game against Kansas are taking on all three of the other ranked teams from the Big 12 on the road to close things out. One player to look out for today, who will also need to perform well throughout this stretch run, is receiver Curry Sexton, who has been very impressive this season and is the team's second leading receiver. Tyler Lockett is going to receive the majority of attention down field for K-State, as he should, being one of the premier play makers in the conference, but Sexton needs to perform well to take some pressure off of Lockett, Jake Waters and the run game, and instead put more pressure on opposing defenses.

5:00 PM EST: It was a struggle last week for Oklahoma State QB Daxx Garman against the Mountaineers of West Virginia. Completing just 21/41 passes, with 2 interceptions and just 1 touchdown, Garman had a rough go of things against the now-#20 team in the nation. His passing efficiency is of the utmost importance to OSU's success. They have play makers on offense such as Tyreek Hill  and also Brandon Sheperd on the outside, but it is imperative that the quarterback limits his mistakes. In 5 wins this season as the starter, Garman threw for 10 touchdowns with just 5 interceptions, with a passer rating above 100 in each game. In their last two contests, both ugly losses, he only has 1 touchdown to go with 4 interceptions, and he hasn't had a passer rating eclipse 100. He must be efficient and mistake-costless for the Cowboys to have a chance in Manhattan.

4:45 PM EST: Despite lacking incredibly flashy numbers, Kansas State QB Jake Waters has led his team to a great start to the 2014 season. He's only thrown for 9 touchdown passes so far this season, with 1655 passing yards, but he has been relatively efficient, completing about 64% of his passes on the year. His running ability is also one of the most crucial components of Bill Snyder's offense, and Waters has performed well on the ground this year, with 370 yards and 7 touchdowns to show for his efforts. Waters may not be the best player on the Wildcats offense (that title likely belongs to WR Tyler Lockett) but his success is critical to their ability to win.

4:30 PM EST: While Oklahoma State's chances at the College Football Playoff are gone, they can still make some noise in the Big 12 and play spoiler for the rest of the conference. Currently ranked 5th in the conference, the Cowboys can mess a lot of things up for the four nationally-ranked teams ahead of them. Head Coach Mike Gundy is trying to get his team in position to have, if nothing else, a decent bowl bid at the end of the season.

4:20 PM EST: Thanks to an undefeated conference record and only one overall loss, at home to the Auburn Tigers, K-State is in decent position to make a run at the College Football Playoff. They are the second-highest ranked team from the Big 12, behind only the TCU Horned Frogs, who do have a conference loss this year, against Baylor. Staying undefeated in conference will only help the Wildcats' chances at reaching the playoff.

4:10 PM EST: Kansas State is entering the game at a record of 6-1 (4-0 in the Big 12), with a close and hard-fought victory last week at home against the Oklahoma Sooners. While they are surging, Oklahoma State continues to struggle. A big win today may make this season look somewhat more impressive, while a loss will send this closer to something of a lost season (regardless of quality of opponent).

4:00 PM EST: Hello there and welcome to VAVEL USA's coverage of Big 12 football. Today we have a big match-up with College Football Playoff implications, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys are visiting the #9 ranked Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan, Kansas. The Wildcats are in the hunt to be in the first ever College Football Playoff, and maintaining an undefeated conference record will certainly help their chances. On the OSU side of things, they're looking to get off the schneid after a difficult and all-too-close win over the lowly Kansas Jayhawks just three weeks ago, a demolishing at the hands of TCU two weeks ago, and a bad loss versus West Virginia last week.
