Quarterbacks

Start

Ben Roethlisberger @ Jaguars – Big Ben hasn’t been spectacular but he has been as good as fantasy owners expected in 2014. This week he goes against the leagues worst secondary in Jacksonville. The Jags have given up 320 passing yards a game and have allowed the most passing touchdowns (11) this season, 50 more yards than the 31st ranked Broncos pass defense.

Philip Rivers vs. Jets – The Jets may boast the leagues best rush defense but they’ve also allowed the 3rd most passing touchdowns. Rivers has scored over 70 points combined over the last 3 weeks in standard scoring and has a chance to go over 25 points for the third time in 4 weeks this Sunday. He can be injected into your lineups without worry.

Sit

Andy Dalton @ Patriots – The Pats still hold on to the #1 Ranked pass defense in the NFL, even after their dreadful Monday Night Football performance. The legendary Bill Belichick will have his players ready to go this Sunday and they should hold Dalton in check for most of the game. There’s no way the Pats can repeat that performance right?...RIGHT?!

Nick Foles vs. Rams – The Rams have only allowed 3 passing touchdowns this season – 2 of which came at the hands of Tony Romo – adding to that, they’ve surrendered just 187 passing yards per contest in 2014. The Eagles offense was a no show in Week 4, and no one can guarantee they’ll make an appearance in week 5 either.

 Running Backs

Start

Rashad Jennings vs. Falcons – The Falcons are Jennings’ easiest match-up of the season by far. They have allowed 9 rushing touchdowns over the 1st 4 weeks and have surrendered 31.1 points on average to opposing runners. Looks like Jennings is in line for a big day.

Matt Asiata @ Packers – Wondering which team has surrendered the most rushing yards through 4 weeks? It’s the Green Bay Packers and its not even close. They have surrendered almost 500 more yards on the ground then the 1st place Jets rush defense and going up against them should be easy picking for a rush offense that scored 5 on the ground in week 4.

Sit

Stevan Ridley vs. Bengals – If you witnessed how the Patriots played against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football then you know how bad the Pats O-Line truly is. With that kind of blocking you cant start any Pats running back with confidence moving forward. On top of their line woes they are going up against one of the top rush defenses in the league on Sunday in the Bengals, who haven’t allowed a 100 yard rusher on the road since Week 9 of last season.

Donald Brown vs. Jets – After a disappointing performance against the Jaguars in Week 4, 5.4 Fantasy Points (Standard Leagues). You cannot expect anything better this week when the Chargers visit the leagues best rush defense in the New York Jets. The J-E-T-S haven’t allowed double digit fantasy points to an running back yet this season.

  Wide Receivers

Start

Victor Cruz vs. Falcons – This season we have only seen the salsa once and it has made Giants games less entertaining then usual. This week though against a very bad Falcons defense there is a very good chance we get to see Cruz hit the end zone where we can receive yet another dance lesson.

Marques Colston vs. Buccaneers – The Buccaneers have given up more fantasy points to wide receivers than any other team in the NFL. That’s good news for Colston who is once again having a Jekyll and Hyde season.  Going against the Bucs in The Superdome we’re most likely going to see another appearance of Jekyll – that’s the good guy -  so be confident in Colston for the first time in 2014.

Sit

DeSean Jackson/Pierre Garcon vs. Seahawks – Are you ever confident starting a wide receiver against the Seahawks? You shouldn’t be. They’ve surrendered LESS than 2 touchdowns passes to wide receivers in 6 straight road games, who needs the 12th man when you’ve got the Legion of Boom.

Jeremy Maclin @ Rams – The Rams boast the leagues 3rd best pass defense and as we noted earlier have allowed just 4 touchdowns passes this season. After how the Eagles offense played last week in San Francisco you shouldn’t expect much better this week against the Rams. Especially while they’re still missing key offensive linemen, Foles wont have much time to throw the ball on Sunday.

Defense

Start

Chargers vs. Jets – The Jets have turned the ball over more than any other team in the NFL (6) because of their young quarterback Geno Smith who holds the leagues 4th worst Quarterback rating. On top of that they have fumbled the ball 9 times already this season but luckily have only lost 3 of them. The Chargers defense hasn’t been entirely productive in fantasy land but should be in line for a couple turnovers and sacks this week with a chance at scoring a touchdown.

Rams @ Eagles – If you watched the Eagles the past two weeks you may have noticed that their offensive line is in shambles. Nick Foles has no time to throw the ball and running back LeSean McCoy has recorded less than 50 yards on the ground over the last two weeks because of that. The Eagles also failed to score an offensive touchdown in Week 4 while turning the ball over 4 times against a 49ers defense that is arguably worse than the Rams defense. St.Louis will definitely get to Foles a ton on Sunday and be in line to force more than enough turnovers.

Sit

Patriots vs. Bengals – Which team has the league’s best turnover differential? The Bengals (+6) In fact they’ve only turned the ball over once so far this season! After watching Alex Smith pick apart New England on Monday Night Football you may want to give the Pats D/ST a week off.

Panthers vs. Bears – The Panthers haven’t looked like the dominant defense we know them to be over the last few weeks. In Week 5 they host a very formidable offense in the Chicago Bears who have thrown the second most touchdowns (10) in the NFL. Don’t expect a rebound performance from the Panthers this week.
