Who knew that coming into today the Bucs would play like they would? The Bucs played this game against the Washington Redskins like a completely new team. Today, the team was so sick of losing so they did things right to win the game. They made tackles, sacked Robert Griffin III six times, made big plays on offense and didn't turn the ball over. That's more sacks than the defense has had all season before today. By winning today the Bucs are in a hunt for the dreadful NFC South title. Mike Evans was responsible for most of the offensive production. Let's see what happened in this game.

Patrick Murray started off the scoring for the Buccaneers. His 32 yard kick was set up after Griffin intercepted it. Danny Lansanah, a linebacker, caught the pass after a deflection off of a wide receiver. Jonathan Banks scored the first Bucs touchdown in the game. He returned another Robert Griffin III interception for a touchdown. This put the Bucs up 10 to nothing. Griffin answered in the second quarter, with a touchdown pass to Roy Helu Jr. giving the Redskins their only points of the day.

The third and fourth quarter was all Mike Evans for the Buccaneers. Evans simply couldn't be stopped he ran right past the receivers. Mike Evans would catch two touchdown passes. He had 209 yards on seven catches as well. Evans became the first rookie wide receiver since Anquan Boldin with 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This is his third straight game with 100 yards, which is impressive. Randy Moss was the first to do that in 1998 with three straight games of 100 receiving and a touchdown. Josh McCown was 15 of 23 on his passes for  188 yards and two touchdowns. Those two touchdown passes to Mike Evans were the longest offensive drives all year. Finally, Evans was seven yards shy of tying Vincent Jackson's Bucs record for most receiving yards in a game.

Lovie Smith on the win," I’d forgotten exactly what the routine is after wins,’’ Lovie Smith said. “But we figured that out pretty quick. There’s just natural emotion in that locker room right now.’’

Lovie Smith has a reunion next week playing against the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field.
