Dear Seahawks fans,

It has been a few weeks now since that heart breaking Super Bowl XLIX loss to the New England Patriots.  We are all bitter and upset that the game was in their grasp but in the end came up one yard short. This writer is not happy with the result just like many of you out there. This writer also is getting extremely tired of the finger pointing being handed out by the so called “12th man”.

First thing, was the call at the goal line the correct call? Hindsight says no, but hindsight is always 20/20. Secondly, if you think you can do a better job at play calling, give Pete Carroll a call and tell him you want Darrell Bevell’s job. The coaches, Bevell in this matter, call plays that will be best suited against the defense on the field at that time. The Patriots had their goal line defense on the field with three corner backs. It was the correct call by the Seahawks; they were just outplayed on that particular play.

The last thing that needs to be brought up, is all of the “12th man” poo pooing all over Doug Baldwin (yes, pun intended). Did Baldwin’s celebration show a lack of class at that particular moment? Yes, it did. Does that celebration show that Baldwin is a bad person and has character flaws? No, it does not.

Some of you are out on social media talking about how you are tired of his antics and that he is being selfish. Does it get a little annoying sometimes with the “us against the world” mentality? It does but it is who this Seahawks team is in the end. They are players that nobody wanted and look at what coach Carroll and the rest of the staff has done with them.

Some of you out there in social media land are saying that the Seahawks should cut Baldwin and move on from his antics. Baldwin did one bad thing during a game that he has never done before in his four years as a member of this team. Yes, the penalty cost the team 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff but in the end it did not hurt the team as the Patriots did not score on the next drive. All of you out there seem to be ok with Marshawn Lynch grabbing his crotch every time he scores but you want the team to cut Baldwin because he simulated pooping on the football? Yeah that makes sense.

Get over yourselves “12th man” and look at the good that Baldwin has done for the team since he has been here and what he brings to the locker room. The way some of you are acting makes this writer ashamed to call you a “12th man”.
