The Denver Broncos will meet with free-agent offensive tackle Jake Long on Thursday at their Dove Valley headquarters.

Long, released by the St. Louis Rams in March, has been recovering from his second torn ACL in less than a year.

The Broncos offensive line has been forced to reshuffle after losing all-pro left tackle Ryan Clady to a torn ACL during OTA's in May. Head coach Gary Kubiak has penciled in this year's second-round draft pick Ty Sambrailo as Clady's replacement and protector of Peyton Manning's blind side.

A healthy Long along with veteran Ryan Harris, who was signed just days after Clady went down, would provide competition for the starting job and much needed depth along an offensive line that has seen huge turnover in the off-season. With Clady's season ending injury, guard Louis Vasquez will be the only starter from last season returning in 2015.

Long, 30, was a consensus first-team All-American in 2006 and a unanimous first team All-American in 2007 with the University of Michigan. The Miami Dolphins made Long the overall first round pick in the NFL Draft in 2008.

The four-time Pro Bowler, selected in his first four seasons with the Dolphins, has started all 96 games he has played during seven seasons in the NFL. Long was selected as a second-team All-Pro in 2009 and first-team in 2010.

Long signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2013 but was hampered by injuries. Long tore his ACL twice within a year, the last coming in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs last October.

This week has seen Long visit the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday and New York Giants on Wednesday. Long has indicated he is willing to take his time before selecting the team he will play with in 2015.

Broncos begin training camp's first full-squad workouts on July 31 at their newly-renovated training facility at Dove Valley.
