As we move towards Monday's 3 p.m. trade deadline, the Washington Capitals have made a move which will add depth to their wing positions.

The trade in reference is that of the Capitals acquiring left-winger Curtis Glencross from the Calargry Flames in exchange for a second and third-round draft picks in this year's upcoming draft.

In a released statement, Capitals GM Brian MacLellan told media,

“Curtis is a player we coveted and we are pleased that he decided to waive his no-trade clause to join our team, we felt we needed to get deeper and more experienced at the forward position. Curtis plays important minutes and his presence on-and-off the ice will benefit our young forwards.”

Glencross is ineveitable a rental for the Capitals unless they decide to resign him this upcoming offseason when he will becom an unrestricted free agent.

So far this season, the 32-year-old left winger has scored nine goals with 19 assists for 28 points in 53 games.

Glencross will most likely be added to the Capitals third or fourth lines, splitting time with Jason Chimera and Brooks Laich.
