The New England Revolution needed someone to step up in their fourth game of the season. Kelyn Rowe did just that and it was enough for him to earn MLS Player of the Week for week four.

After three games into the 2015 MLS season, the New England Revolution had failed to score a single goal. Not that they didn't have their chances, they just weren't fortunate enough to find the back of the net. That all changed in week four of MLS. Kelyn Rowe bagged the team’s first two goals of the season in route to beating the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 at snowy Gillette Stadium.

After ditching his "man bun", the Federal Way, Washington native finally got the Revs on the board against a pesky Earthquakes team. He also helped the Revs to their first win of the season. New England has not been the same team as they were in 2014. They missed MVP candidate Lee Nguyen and USMNT international Jermaine Jones due to injuries and had no one else on the team that could carry the load.

Rowe decided to put the team on his back and do what he could to help them win. Rowe received a pass from Nguyen in the 21st minute and fired a shot from outside the box. The shot ricocheted off of defender Shaun Francis and found its way into the back of the net.

In the 37th minute, Rowe scored the eventual game-winner after the ball fell to his feet in the box after a set piece from Chris Tierney. You can watch the first goal here and the second goal here.

The Revs will travel to Commerce City, CO to take on the Colorado Rapids this coming Saturday looking for their second straight win of this young 2015 MLS season.
