The Montreal Impact have announced the signing of keeper Kristian Nicht from NASL club Indy Eleven via their official website and social media accounts.

The club were in limbo ahead of the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Final on Wednesday following the rejection of Evan Bush's suspension appeal and were in desperate need of a goalkeeper.

Despite having two other keepers on board who could've taken his place, one is cup-tied in Eric Kronberg, who featured in the earlier stages with Sporting Kansas City and the other is loanee John Smits who was deputy to Bush in Montreal's last two CCL games.

Speaking to reporters technical director Adam Braz said, “We want someone who will come and integrate the team, We’re not looking for just one game. We also have to look at what’s best for the team, collectively.”

Braz saw thirty-three year old German Kristian Nicht as the man who fits exactly that, "We are very pleased to acquire an experienced goalkeeper who is having success this season and who has had success in the past, We know he will integrate within the group with ease as he's spent a few weeks with us during training camp as well as for games in Mexico and Olympic Stadium."

Nicht, who has had spells in both his native Germany and Norway, had four starts this term for the Indy Eleven with a goals against average of 1.00, making him second best in the league overall.
