Leicester City starting XI: SchmeichelHernandez, Huth, MorganChilwellMahrez, AmarteyMendySchluppUlloaOkazaki

This will be the first time that these two sides have ever met. Claudio Ranieri, though, will be chomping at the bit to test the Paris side. The match will be good practice in preparation for the Champions League. Should Leicester City perform well against Paris Saint-Germain, then they will know that they can compete in that tournament.

The French giants have had a busy summer transfer window already bringing in a number of reinforcements. Two of the bigger signings thus far have been Grzegorz Krychowiak and Hatem Ben Arfa. Grzegorz Krychowiak and Unai Emery worked together at Sevilla and already have a good understanding of what is expected between them. That will only intensify at a bigger club. Hatem Ben Arfa is going to be a nice impact sub late in matches. The 29-year-old has tons of speed to burn and could put tiring defenses under immense pressure.

Paris Saint-Germain through a strong starting XI together a weakened Real Madrid side in their first International Champions Cup match. And when the dust settled, Paris Saint-Germain came out the victors. The scoring started early on with Jonathan Ikone finding the back of the net in just the second minute. Then, new boy Thomas Meunier made is mark late in the opening 45 minutes of play. His first goal occurred 10 minutes from the halftime interval. Thomas Meunier completed his brace with five minutes remaining in the half. With a minute to go until the break, Real Madrid did manage to pull one back from the spot. However, that was all they could muster as Paris Saint-Germain won all three points.

It took some time, but eventually, Unai Emery signed with the French capital club. The reason for this? Unai Emery has European success under his belt. Unai Emery became a household name in Spain with Sevilla. In his first season in charge Unai Emery lifted the Europa League and would do so for the next two seasons. His success on some of the biggest stages, Unai Emery became highly sought after. The big draw to France had to be the probability of finally getting his hands on the Champions League trophy. He has the squad to do it, but he just has to be able to get everyone to gel, which is no easy task of course.

Playing in Ligue 1 always gives Paris Saint-Germain an advantage. With the money they have, the league seems to always be over before it starts, and more times than not, it usually is. As a result of this, the Qatari-owners have placed their expectations solely on Europe and the Champions League. But often, they falter before the semi-finals. And this is why Laurent Blanc was relieved of his duties when the season ended.

Leicester City might have lost N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, and perhaps Riyad Mahrez when the transfer window is all said and done, but they have already brought in a good amount of players to ready themselves for the Champions League. Ron-Robert Zieler was brought in to challenge Kasper Schmeichel. The competition will be good for both men as they look to solidify the number one goalkeeping spot for Leicester City. Up front, Ahmed Musa is going to be a good edition to Claudio Ranieri’s 4-4-2. He can play alongside Jamie Vardy as the two play the game differently. Musa is more of a hold-up strike and he can wait for the run of Jaime Vardy before laying a pass off to him.

While both sides have already played a match in the competition, Leicester  City played their opening match up in Scotland. Their, they faced off against the Scottish Premie League champions Celtic. Playing at the home of Celtic, the hosts did not give any respect to the Foxes. Even after Leicester City went ahead with a stunning Riyad Mahrez goal, Celtic found a way back as Eoghan O’Connell scored the equalizer 13 minutes later. However, eventually, Leicester City went on to win on penalties, claiming their first three points in this tournament.

By now, everyone knows Leicester CIty's story. Before the start of the season they were 5000-1 favorites to lift the English Premier League trophy. But, in one of the greatest Cinderella stories ever, Leicester City defied all the odds set about them. Now, they face bigger tests this season. Clubs around the world are trying to poach their top talents and they have got targets on their backs heading into the season. Can they maintain challenges on all fronts? Or will the Champions League play be too much for them to handle? Of course, only time will tell.
