For as long as fans can remember WWE has been associated with a number of voices such as Jim Ross or Mr McMahon but one voice, a female voice has been largely ignored.

Lillian Garcia has since 1999 been the voice everyone recognizes when a performer makes their way into the ring and she is now set to take some time away from the company.

The 49-year-old took to social media site Instagram to issue fans with a heartfelt reason as to why she has been away recently and left a touching story along with it.

Garcia's father has, according to her, been battling two different types of cancer and her time has been solely dedicated to him as he looks to overcome his dual illnesses.

She said to her 390 thousand followers "I’ve been getting a lot of tweets and messages asking where I have been and if I’m coming back to WWE.

"As most of you know, my father has been battling with two different types of cancer. He hasn’t been doing as well as we hoped, THEREFORE, I will not be traveling weekly with WWE any longer."

On her father

WWE's hectic schedule is no place for a performer that has this kind of significant worry on her mind and the company is likely well aware that her devotion needs to be solely on her father at this time.

She continued "He truly needs me, and I need this time with him. I ask that you please continue prayers for my father and my family."

Garcia's rendition of the national anthem a mere two days following the 9/11 attack and her voice united the entire arena which is believed to be one of the first mass collection of American's since the disaster.

Garcia was keen to insist that this was not the end of her WWE career but as of right now she does not know if or when she will return.

With that doubt in mind she wanted to thank the fans who have given her a "magical 15-year career" as she "can't thank you enough" for all "your love" and "support."

She also wanted to thank her fellow performers as she said "I also want to thank the amazing WWE Superstars, whom many of them have become my friends! You are an incredible group of people with SO much talent! It has been such an honor to introduce you to the ring and watch your superior athleticism week after week."

The company's first 'Decade Diva' also gave thanks to the crew and production staff labeling them as the "glue" that "keeps" it all "together."

On her journey she said it has been a "ride" she had never wanted to "get off" but she will "cherish the memories forever" in her final paragraph she said "this is not goodbye" and hopes that the WWE Universe will "follow" her on "social media" and "share" her "next chapter."
