Leicester City made an impressive start to the season winning all three of their opening games, with an emphatic 5-2 win away at Manchester City the standout result.

However, in their final game before the international break, the Foxes were dismantled by West Ham United at the King Power Stadium. After the two week break, Leicester will be hoping to return to winning ways against Aston Villa.

Villa made a huge statement in their previous game with an incredible 7-2 victory against last season's champions Liverpool. Dean Smith will be keen for this side to build on the stunning result and pull off another upset to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Here are five key quotes from Brendan Rodgers’ pre-match press conference, courtesy of the official Leicester City website.

On Caglar Soyuncu:

Whilst on international duty, Caglar Soyuncu picked up an injury which kept him out of all three of Turkey’s games.

The 24-year-old, who is usually a starting centre-back for his national side was left out of the squad and it is now looking likely that he will remain on the side-lines for Leicester’s upcoming games.

Rodgers gave an update on his fitness: "We think that Caglar will most definitely be out with an abductor strain, so we’re waiting on the scan on that.

"We think that he is definitely out for a number of weeks, but until we get the final scans, that will determine the length of time.”

On Wesley Fofana:

With the absence of Soyuncu expected, new signing Wesley Fofana will be favourite to replace him in the starting line-up. The Frenchman joined the Foxes this month and looks likely to make his Premier League debut this weekend.

Rodgers revealed that he will be confident in Fofana if he is required to start. "I’ve got no qualms about Wesley [Fofana] coming in to play,” the Leicester boss said. “He's fit and fine. He’s been playing in the early part of the season and gone away and played for the France Under-21s as well.

"We’ve brought him in because he’s a big talent and he’s ready to come in and play now. He’s such a young player, but if I have to play Wesley, I have no qualms about that.”

On other key injuries:

As well as Soyuncu, Jonny Evans has also picked up an injury on international duty. The Northern Irish centre-back was unable to carry on in his previous game and was substituted at half time. Rodgers confirmed the knock but remains hopeful that he will be able to play.

He said: "Jonny has come back with abdominal pain, so again, we’ll review that. We’re hopeful that Jonny will be okay and that would obviously be a great bonus for the team.”

Jamie Vardy, Dennis Praet and Daniel Amartey are also all doubts for Sunday’s game. The Leicester boss gave some more detail about the injuries and provided an update as to whether they will be available.

He explained: “Vardy has an issue around his calf, so we’re awaiting a scan on that. Praet, obviously, has gone away and done some work with Belgium, so we’ll see how he is, but he’ll be a doubt.

“Amartey is out with his hamstring for a number of weeks, so the international break hasn’t been too kind for us."

On Wes Morgan:

With the possible absence of both the Foxes’ starting centre backs, club captain Wes Morgan may be needed to make his first start of the season. Morgan has had some injury troubles of his own but Rodgers was keen to reiterate his importance to this team.

"We’ll see how Morgan is also and then we’ll assess it over the next 24 hours,” he said. “He’s been out with the rehab team and joined in with training so he will be able to play some part at the weekend, which is great news for us.

"He’s hugely missed, he’s a really talented player for us, and it’s just about getting his season going and, hopefully, he can stay injury-free now."

Hopes for the game:

Despite the growing injury list, Rodgers remained confident ahead of the game and is keen to see how the replacements step up to the task.

He said: "It’ll be unfortunate if some of these guys miss out, but it’ll provide an opportunity for other players to come in and the team have got a really good spirit.

"The mentality’s really good so the guys that come in if they have to will be ready to perform."
