Harry Kane continues to struggle

Following the entire transfer saga from the summer, which ended in him staying at North London, Harry Kane has not lived up to the expectations in the start of the 2021 / 22 campaign.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has played four games in the Premier League so far, and is still yet to record his first goal or assist of the season.

As a matter of fact, Kane has only recorded 10 touches in the opposition's penalty box in the Premier League this season.

Despite winning the Premier League Golden Boot and lead the league in assists during the 2020 / 21 campaign, Kane has still received criticism regarding his playing style, dropping at times a little bit too deep in the pitch to get a hold off the ball.

Spurs, who have secured nine points out of 15 in the start of the English campaign, have conceded six goals in their last two matches against Crystal Palace (away) and Chelsea (home), respectively.

OptaJoe reported Spurs have lost consecutive Premier League matches by a 3+ goal margin for the first time since their opening two games of the 2011-12 campaign.

This is the first time since 2015 /2016, that the England captain failed to score in the opening four games.

Kane has four chances created so far this season, along with four shots on target and 134 total touches.

"I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS" the 28 year-old striker said back in August when he confirmed he will be staying at Tottenham Hotspur this year.

It has not all been negatives for him though, considering he recorded a brace with Spurs against Pacos De Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League qualifying stage, which realistically is a competition Spurs could win.

Eventually Kane will get back to his best form, but relying on him too much in the start of the season after a tough summer has not been the best move for Spurs so far.
