• Chesterfield 2-0 Wrexham

With both of these two title contenders having virtually the same start to the season, this game was a chance for one of them to really kickstart their season.

There was no doubt about who began the brightest, the game being goalless for just nine minutes. Chesterfield's Jeff King beat his man before cutting into the box where he eased past three of Wrexham's high-priced defenders and fired home into the bottom corner for 1-0.

The news reaching Spireites fans on 22 minutes couldn't have been any better, when just minutes after the home side smashed an effort against the post, Ollie Banks gave them a deserved two-goal advantage, following some great work by Armando Dobra.

  • Oldham Athletic 1-2 Wealdstone

Two late goals from Dorking Wanderers did worry Oldham slightly, but The Latics managed to hang on to provide a decent start to the Frank Rothwell era at the weekend. This wasn't the case at Boundary Park on Tuesday night.

After 11 minutes, the well-regarded hosts found themselves at the wrong end of the scoreline - a lifted ball into the mixer was headed on by Wealdstone's Jack Cook, only to find Rhys Browne who volleyed home from point-blanc range.

It didn't take long before Browne found himself involved with yet another goal, his pinpoint lob locating Tarryn Allarakhia, who slotted home with ease.

Oldham needed a goal desperately, and their wish came true a few minutes after the break. In-form Ben Tollitt retrieved the ball after a free kick, and let fly, as he watched his effort bounce in off the crossbar, but unfortunately for them, it wasn't enough.

Sitting on a lone point, a win might have been helpful for newcomers Dorking, and captain James McShane led his Wanderers into a deserved lead after 20 minutes, firing into the roof of the net from inside the area.

10 minutes short of half time, Maidstone found their leveler, through Jack Barham, his ruthless strike coming instantaneously after a goal line clearance.

McShane was back at it again, slotting under Yusuf Mersin to restore the visitors' lead at the start of the second period, before Stones responded for a second time, with the instant reply coming from Christie Pattersson, his head connecting perfectly with the ball to take it in off the post.

With seven minutes remaining on the clock, there was still yet to be another twist, as Jake Gallagher was brought down inside the area.

That left Ryan Seager to dispatch his penalty, before confirming Dorking's three points with a second goal in injury time, Sam Corne's red card sandwiched in between, potentially helping the away side in the end.

Woking secured back-to-back home victories for the first time since March, despite their poor performance on opening day.

The Cards got off the mark after only four minutes, Padraig Amond's searching cross finding right-back Kyrnan Lofthouse who converted from close range.

Lofthouse sealed the deal shortly into the second half, his second goal coming from an initial blocked shot, and at the second time of asking, he fired into the bottom left corner.

Since their promotion-winning campaign, Gateshead have been one of the few relegation candidates, but have defied all odds as they are yet to be beaten after three tough games.

No more than a minute into the second half, The Heed made the unlikely breakthrough as new man Tom Allan won back possession on the edge of the area and calmly slotted past the County 'keeper.

What was looking like a fantastic win for The Tynesiders turned out to have some late drama before the final whistle.

Searching for one last chance, Aaron Nemane's cross couldn't find a pink shirt, but instead was turned home by Gateshead's own Louis Storey, charing the points on Tyneside.

Ahead of a huge match in front of the BT Sport cameras, both managers made just one change to their starting lineups.

Alex Reid opened the scoring for Solihull on 67 minutes, connecting with a low cross from Andy Dallas.

Just eight minutes later, Lenell John-Lewis similarly got on the end of a decent cross from Maziar Kouhyar to split the points in this National League match-up.

  • Yeovil Town 1-2 Barnet

After a goal-hunting 70 minutes, it seemed like the deadlock was never going to be broken, but Nicke Kabamba stepped up for Barnet and gave the visitors the lead, steering the ball into the net following a great low cross from Ephron Mason-Clark.

If National League did Fantasy Football, who wouldn't have Kabamba in their team? 12 minutes away from the whistle, that man did it again - after noticing the Yeovil 'keeper's positioning, the Bees striker tried a sublime chip and pulled it off successfully, to double the lead.

It didn't take long for The Glovers to respond, and it was a goal that was needed by the hosts - Jamie Reckford met the ball at the far post to half the deficit, but unfortunately for Town, they came one goal short.

It hadn't been a particularly impressive start for Aldershot Town after two games, but they made the perfect start against a dominant Boreham Wood side. Good play from The Shots resulted in Inih Effiong playing Justin Amaluzor in who prodded home on 15 minutes.

It took until the 62nd for the visitors to claim their second - Josh McQuoid smashed his effort against the woodwork, but Ryan Glover was there to convert to follow-up.

Three minutes were left when The Wood Army's George Williams brilliantly scored a dipping free kick into the top corner. The quality cannot be faulted even though a consolation.

  • Maidenhead United 2-0 Altrincham

Similarly to Gateshead, Maidenhead were tipped as one of the favourites for relegation, but The Magpies could in fact be the surprise package this season.

Altrincham's Dermot Mee was mainly to fault for the opener - the goalkeeper was dispossessed by Adrian Clifton, and left with an empty net, which he made no mistake in scoring, giving his side the early lead.

The second goal came in the 89th minute, Shawn McCoulskey reacting the quickest to a torn-open defence and tucking into the bottom corner to give Maidenhead a second consecutive win.

  • Eastleigh 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge

Underperformers Dagenham struck first in this Southern match-up, and coincidentally it was ex-Eastleigh man Paul McCallum who powered home after Junior Morias cut the ball back to the striker.

Deep into stoppage time was the late nature of The Spitfires' dramatic equalizer, which Charlie Carter poked home from a corner to send the home crowd wild, claiming a valuable point.

Torquay were looking dangerous at one point in this fixture, an effort coming back off the crossbar, just minutes before The Gulls were reduced to ten men - Ross Marshall was the man to receive a straight red, for what for deemed an illegal challenge.

United saw the upshot of this, falling to their first defeat of the season as Bromley went on to net the solitary goal - Louis Dennis' shot at goal was blocked but the rebound fell to him, and sent a curling effort into the corner, giving Bromley their first win.

A low-scoring game was half-expected after Halifax's recent form, thee hosts yet to score nor win a point this season.

This mid-week match-up sprung into life after 15 minutes when Southend's Nathan Ralph was tripped up by Sam Minihan, leading to an early chance for The Shrimpers to get in front from the penalty spot.

WInger Callum Powell stepped up, but his right-footer was fantastically saved by Town 'keeper Sam Johnson, keeping the scores level.

Given that no one could capitalize on any other chances, The Shay remain at the foot of the table, whilst Southend are just one point ahead.
