Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Stockport County striker Alex Reid on a season long loan deal.

The 26-year-old, returns to the Armco Arena after a successful loan spell back in 2018, which saw Reid score four goals in fifteen appearances as the club completed the great escape in the National League.

Reid began his youth career at Aston Villa and Walsall, before making a brief 2014 move to Swedish side Ange. He also had spells at Solihull Moors Rushall Olympic before moving to Fleetwood Town in 2017.

After his Solihull Moors spell, Reid was released and subsequently joined Stevenage but was limited to just eleven appearances, including loan spells at AFC Fylde, Ebbsfleet United and Dagenham & Redbridge before finally settling at Stockport County

Reid has scored 18 in 55 appearances for Stockport County and was a real standout player in his first season for the National League side. Last season, Reid wasn’t used effectively, even more so when striker Paddy Madden arrived. He even turned down a move to Solihull Moors at the back end of the 2021/2022 season, due to wanting to help Stockport County earn EFL promotion.

Alex Reid joins the club after a string of striker departures at Solihull Moors as Adam Rooney and Danny Newton were released and Kyle Hudlin is yet to sign a new contract.
