Coming off the back of a 3-0 win over Maidenhead, the visitors started on the front foot, with star man Ruben Rodrigues converting from the penalty spot, after a Wood defender was adjudged to handle the ball.

Just seven minutes short of the half time interval, new striker Danny Elliot revived Boreham Wood, finally scrambling home following a sequence of blocked efforts from Femi Ilesamni.

County regained the lead on 68 minutes, Kairo Mitchell getting on the scoresheet from 20 yards out with a rocket into the bottom corner.

Heading into the closing ten minutes, Mitchell went from hero to zero for the title contenders, as he conceded a penalty, which Tyrone Marsh converted in due course, to split the points.

  • Yeovil Town 1-1 Wrexham

It took just six minutes for big guns Wrexham to take the lead, after a defensive mistake let Paul Mullin in and last season's top scorer made no mistake in opening his account for this campaign.

After continuous pressing for an equalizer, Yeovil eventually found what they were looking for, and in some style, Malachi Linton's half-volley brilliantly flew into the top corner, leaving Mark Howard with almost no chance, as The Glovers claimed a solid point.

No longer a team under the radar, subsequent to their promotion final loss, Solihull Moors made the breakthrough after a dozen minutes - some good play inside the area lead to Callum Maycock playing Andy Dallas in to slot home.

Southend's Chris Wreh helped the visitors level midway through the second 45, curling an effort into the top corner, continuing the league trend with another draw.

A fixture that no one ever anticipated - Oldham vs Dorking. The recently relegated Latics took on newly-promoted Wanderers, and Oldham, as expected, made the better start.

Ben Tollitt took advantage of a poor possession loss from the visitors and took the easy option to knock it across to Hallam Hope, who struck it into the corner first-time.

Oldham gave themselves breathing space on 52 minutes - Luke Burgess threaded through Chris Porter who slotted it past Slavomir Huk to double the lead for the hosts.

They looked to be out of sight soon after, with Tollitt converting via a huge deflection, shortly after a failed free kick attempt.

Maybe there was life left in the game for Dorking, a beautiful header from Josh Taylor giving the underdogs a lifeline with eight minutes to go.

The same man who swung in the cross for Wanderers' first, Bobby-Joe Taylor crossed in almost a replica, and yet again, a striped shirt got on the end of it, and this time Alfie Rutherford was the one who headed home for the second.

Luckily for Oldham, their first televised fixture of the season ended in a win, but only by tight margins in the end.

  • Eastleigh 1-0 Wealdstone

In a game which only needed one goal to win it, Eastleigh's home advantage came to be useful, as did it for Wealdstone on opening day.

Just short of the hour mark, The Spitfires saw Tristan Abrahams net the winning goal, after his initial shot was blocked.

A dream start to life back in the National League was made by York City last Saturday, and the momentum from their win over Woking carried through, as Lenell John-Lewis opened the scoring on ten minutes, heading in from Maz Kouhyar's inch-perfect cross.

Shortly before half-time, fellow promoted side Maidstone were awarded a penalty - Jack Barham failed to equalize, with City 'keeper Ethan Ross saving from the spot.

11 minutes from time, The Stone's Roarie Deacon chipped the ball onto the head of Sam Corne, who levelled from close range.

It was only a matter of minutes later when Maidstone took the lead from yet another well-worked goal. Deacon made a brilliant run before pulling back to Corne for a tap-in, giving the home side all three points and retaining the unbeaten streak.

Relegated from the Football League, along with Oldham, Scunthorpe began their promotion challenge well, and travelled to Maidenhead United full of confidence.

However, it was surprisingly The Magpies that made the breakthrough - Emile Acquah got on the end of a cross from Koby Arthur to give the hosts the lead after 26 minutes.

Amazingly enough, the advantage was soon doubled by defender Will De Havilland, who found himself in space before converting from close range.

Right on the stroke of half-time, Kane Ferdinand completed a perfect first-half for Maidenhead, turning home at the near post from a corner.

Shortly after returning from the break, Scunthorpe's Joe Nuttall was shoved to the ground, resulting in a penalty, which Nuttall himself dispatched into the top corner to reduce the deficit.

Nuttall's header after 87 minutes was the last of a five-goal thriller, and turned out to be just another consolation for The Iron.

A close-to-600 mile round trip for Torquay proved to be worth three huge points, as they claimed a first win of the season. Halifax, on the other hand, fell to their second defeat, contrasting their positive playoff finish last campaign.

The solitary winner came in the third minute of first half injury time - Dean Moxey's long throw was flicked onto Brett McGavin, who only needed one touch for control before firing into the bottom left corner.

A second consecutive loss for Aldershot Town leaves them rock bottom of the National League, but a first win for Chesterfield, thanks to a 64th minute finish from Liam Mandeville.

The striker latched onto a decent through ball and with some skill, took it round the Shots 'keeper and into the corner.

  • Gateshead 2-2 Barnet

Gateshead couldn't hang on to a 2-0 lead at Dagenham last Saturday and this week, they were in the opposite position, having to rescue a draw from two goals down.

Barnet broke the deadlock when Ryan De Havilland poked the ball over the goal line. The Bees from London doubled their lead in first half injury time.

Five minutes after the break, Kenton Richardson showed his pace and skill before knocking the ball back to Paul Blackett.

All the forward had to do was smash home and that kickstarted an inspired Heed comeback.

About 16 minutes were remaining when the comeback was completed for The Northerners. Goalscorer Blackett claimed an assist too, as he set up Adam Campbell, who at the first time of asking, rocketed it into the back of the net, helped by a slight deflection.

  • Woking 2-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

It took just shy of 30 minutes for a dominant Woking side to take a deserved lead, with Reece Grego-Cox knocking home at the near post following a clever corner routine.

Within the space of just five minutes, Paul Ince doubled The Cards' advantage, a bullet header at the back post finding the target. The 2-0 scoreline was never to be threatened by a tame Dagenham.

  • Bromley 0-0 Altrincham

There's always a bore-draw, and this time it turned out to be Altrincham's trip to Hayes Lane.

There wasn't much to talk about in Bromley's initial home match of the season, apart from Alty being faced into a change between the sticks. Matt Gould's best efforts to retain a clean sheet were succesfful but had some consequences.
