High flying Brighton & Hove Albion returned back to winning ways after a 5-2 victory over winless Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

A strong start for The Foxes after Kelechi Iheanacho scored inside 1 minute, but The Seagulls responded quickly thanks to a Luke Thomas own goal and a Moisés Caicedo goal.

Brendan Rodgersside found a equalizer courtesy of Patson Daka however, a dominant second half performance secured the 3 points with a double from Alexis Mac Allister and a strike from Leandro Trossard.

Here are the main takeaways from the game.

  • Ruthless Brighton

After a 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Tuesday evening at Craven CottageThe Seagulls were looking to bounce back and they did exactly that.

Scoring 5 goals in a Premier League match for the first time, and it could've been more. Taking advantage of a defence shot of confidence, Graham Potter has got his side playing some wonderful fluid football, a great watch on the eye.

A system capable of causing problems to every side, Leandro TrossardMoisés Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister being the standouts, goals are coming from all over the pitch.

In previous years, The Seagulls found it difficult to score goals, but Potter's side look to have resolved that issue. Despite The Foxes gifting goals away for fun, a clear identity can be recognised throughout the home side with strong foundations in Joël Veltman, Lewis Dunk  and Adam Webster

With games against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurthe objective will be to keep their early season momentum going.

  • Alexis Mac Allister magic

The Argentinian stole the show scoring 2 goals at the Amex Stadium, a constant thorn in Leicester's side he ran the show. Continuing his and Brighton's impressive start this term, he now has 4 goals already this season with 3 coming from the spot.

It could've been 3, as sublime strike was controversially ruled out by VAR, thankfully that didn't steel the show after several decisions this weekend.

It was not only his goals but, his creative presence caused the away side problems all over the pitch. Sharp interchanges in the final third will please Potter and he looks to be a key player this season.

A core element of the attack, complimenting Enock Mwepu and Danny Welbeck all things look positive for the South Coast side.

  • Is Brendan Rodgers' time up?

Leicester City have endured a tough start to the season, from reaching a European Semi-Final at the end of last season, The Foxes now sit rock bottom of the Premier League. No wins from the opening 6 games, Rodgers is becoming under a lot of pressure.

The Northern Irishman changed things up with Jamie Vardy being dropped with Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka leading the line. Tinkering with his side throughout the game, nothing seemed to be working.

Time looks to be running out for the boss, a huge game next week against Aston Villa could be decisive in his Leicester tenure.

After a very successful time at The Foxes a refreshment may just be needed after another lacklustre display today, the side looks shot of confidence and ideas.

A crucial week could be instore.

  • Leicester's defensive woes

Brendan Rodgers' side have conceded 16 goals so far this season, another 5 goals shipped today really highlights the issue.

After loosing key players in Kasper Schmeichel to OGC Nice and Wesley Fofana to Chelsea. The Foxes have looked far from commanding in the defensive unit.

The backline has seen several changes with the introduction of Danny Ward as Leicester's new number one and Wilfred Ndidi playing in a very unorthodox centre back position alongside Jonny EvansFull back paring Luke Thomas and James Justin started back to back games with Timothy Castagne left on the bench.

New signing Wout Faes wasn't involved in the squad today, but could provide needed cover in that position.

Danny Ward has had a tough start to life as a Premier League number one, highlighting the loss of Schemichel.

The Foxes gave away several poor goals in the game as Brighton's fluid attack left Leicester without answers with Leandro Trossard causing huge problems to Wilfred Ndidi in the second half alongside James Justin and Luke Thomas being exposed in the full back position, playing a 4 and a 5 as Rodgers switched things up.

Still in search of their first clean sheet, more changes could be needed ahead of the huge game against Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa next weekend at the King Power Stadium
