The Green Bay Packers are always in the conversation for the playoffs when talking about the NFL. This Packers team this season might be one of the best they have put together in the last many years. The hope for the Packers, like every NFL team is to make another run at the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers looks to lead the Packers

Aaron Rodgers had big shoes to fill from the day he stepped in as starting quarterback. Rodgers has filled those shoes very well so far. He will look to continue his incredible career coming into this season. Packers fans have very high hopes for this season and for Rodgers. The receiving corps Rodgers has this season could be one of the deepest they have seen in years. It also helps to have another one of their key offensive leaders back in Jordy Nelson. Nelson was injured all of last season. Jordy is on track to play Week one and that is amazing news for Green Bay.

One of the major storylines surrounding the offseason was the reports of performance enhancing drugs. Two key defensive players for the Pack were involved in those investigations. Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers met with the NFL about the situation. It was then announced that Matthews and Peppers were cleared of the allegations against them. That is also very good news for fans of the Packers and the team as well.

Looking to build off of last season

It is no secret that the Packers had their fair share of injuries last season. They managed to fight through those injuries and manage to still make the playoffs. They were unable to win the NFC North but still managed to fight their way into the postseason. They had high expectations, as usual coming into the season, and managed to cover them pretty well. Those expectations lowered a little once Nelson got injured. However, they did then go out and get James Jones who had a productive season.

Offseason a good one for the Packers?

The Packers used the 2016 NFL Draft very wisely. With their first round pick, they drafted Kenny Clark from UCLA. Clark is going to be a very good player for the Packers. Maybe not right away in the first game, but he will make his impact. Clark is expected to be a starter for the Packers when the meet the Jacksonville Jaguars week one.

Also, in the fourth round of the draft they had what could be a steal. They drafted Blake Martinez from Stanford in the fourth round. Martinez is listed as an inside linebacker. He is in competition for starting week one.

Super Bowl capable team for the Packers?

One of the strengths for the team this season should definitely be the offense, like usual. Whenever you have Aaron Rodgers as your starting quarterback, it is likely you will have a good offense. If they have any weaknesses at all, it would just be injuries. If they stay healthy, a lot of wins should be coming their way. The defense is improved as well so that is another strength. This team is super deep at wide receiver. About seven or eight receivers all trying to make their case for who should be the third starter. Expect the Packers to keep maybe five or six of the receivers.

Predictions for the season

Looking at the schedule this season, Green Bay fans are hoping it is another super fun season. This team could easily go 12-4 or maybe even 13-3. A lot of the games could go either way, but if the Pack are healthy for these games, they should easily win most of them. If they can get that record, an NFC North title should be in the running for sure. Packers fans are hoping that will be the case and that it will lead to the ultimate goal. Which would be the Lombardi Trophy yet again coming back to Green Bay.
