Azarenka to serve first.

Serena's longtime hitting partner and best friend Sascha Bajin split up earlier this year after a 8-year relationship. He'll be in Azarenka's box as her hitting partner and unofficial hitting coach. Interesting to see this "battle".

The two women walk out on court and will begin warm ups shortly.

Maria Sharapova has just finished off Coco Vandeweghe in three sets. She's the second woman into the semifinals, joining Spaniard Garbine Muguruza

For Azarenka to win, she's got to keep it strong mentally. We all know about how well she hits from the back of the court and that her serve can be suspect at times, but her biggest downfall lately is keeping it together in the important moments. Her best results were back-to-back semifinals in 2011 and 2012 and she has the chance to match that with a victory today. Lately, she's lost the plot in some of her big matches after faltering. The first known example would be in Madrid against Serena Williams. After holding three match points in the third set, she subsequently double faulted the game away and lost in a tiebreaker. Next up was at the French Open, which was also against the world number one. After getting up a set and staying on serve in the second, a controversial line call went against her. Serena would break her then take the match. It's moments like these that have made the former world number one crumble. Knowing that this was the opponent where these crucial meltdowns happened will be a motivating factor the Belarusian. It's time for her to step up and overcome this serious mental barrier if victory were to see her today.

Azarenka, who is seeded 23rd, has had no trouble so far whatsoever at Wimbledon. She opened up her journey to the fourth round with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory over Annet Kontaveit of Estonia. After that, she took on former Wimbledon semifinalist in Kirsten Flipkens. The Belgian was looking to pose some kind of a threat to the Belarusian given her peaks at the All England Club. However, Azarenka dominated the whole match taking her out three and three. Her third round opponent was Kristina Mladenovic. The Frenchwoman was coming off of a fantastic grass court season and French Open. Despite this match being the 23rd seeds toughest challenge, it was still a straight sets victory for her winning 6-4, 6-4. Her match yesterday was against Swiss teen sensation, Belinda Bencic. Many thought  that this match was going to be a challenge for Azarenka. She came out swinging and routed the Swiss 6-2, 6-3. This was the best tennis that the Belarusian has played all year and it was before her match today where she's peaked, great signs for her.

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka will try to pull off the feat which she hasn't done since 2013. That feat is beating the Serena Williams. The Belarusian has been close many times, but close only counts in horseshoes. She's certainly been playing more like the Azarenka of old rather than the one we saw in Australia struggling to find her range on her groundstrokes.

For the world number one to win tomorrow, she's going to have to really dictate the points. Azarenka is coming into her own now and is looking more and more like the world number one again rather than the world number 20. Both women are fantastic ball strikers from the back of the court, and the Belarusian has the power and gameplan to keep up with the American. Keeping the points short and sweet will be key.

Yesterday, she faced off against her older sister Venus Williams. These two sisters hate against playing each other, but it had to be done. In their respective press conferecnes leading up, they said they'd probably end up rooting for the other sister to win. Ultimately, Venus fell short in her bid to take out her younger sister.

Her first two matches were complete cruise control taking out Gasparyan and Babos in her first to matches. However, in her third match which was against Brit, Heather Watson,  she struggled. She was broken a few times before ultimately losing the second set. The crowd and the world was getting behind the Brit as they were realizing the massive upset that this could cause. After falling behind in the third set, Serena was forced to claw her way back into the match as she always does. The nerves definitely got to the Brit as she looked extremely shaky when serving it out. Watson was just two points away from sending the world's best player out of tournament, but in her own fashion, Serena made sure she went out on her terms, taking the match in three.

We ALL know what's at stake each time the top seed and world number one takes the court. History, a shot at history awaits. Serena Williams is just three victories away from claiming her sixth Wimbledon title. But that's not even the most historic part of this journey. A second "Serena Slam" potentially awaits and a shot at the Calendar Slam could happen if she wins Wimbledon. Even just more than that awaits though, the potential to cement herself as the greatest women's tennis player of all-time.

This is a showdown of Grand Slam champions, women that were ranked number one. By no means this is going to be a matchup where the American is heavily favored despite leading the head-to-head by an astounding 16-3. The last time the Belarusian knocked off Serena was in Cincinnati in 2013. The American exacted her revenge with a victory over in the US Open final. These two have met earlier this year on the clay courts, once in Madrid and once at the French Open. Both times we saw Azarenka in control before faltering, will that be the story again?
