Milos Raonic, a former semifinalist at Wimbledon back in 2014, will be hoping to replicate that form, he showcased here two years ago and would the big-serving Canadian would love to go all the way to win the title.

Former three-time champion, John McEnroe is part of Raonic's coaching team for Wimbledon, and Raonic will be hoping to absorb a lot of knowledge from the American.

Andreas Seppi, formerly ranked as high as number 18 in the world, is currently ranked at 45 and he is no stranger to dishing out giant killings at slams, as he defeated seven-time champion Roger Federer at the Australian Open last year.

How they got here

Raonic is having a successful grass court campaign as he reached the final of the Aegon Championships at the Queen's Club losing to Andy Murray, a result the Canadian will be disappointed with as he was a set and a break-up.

In his first round match at Wimbledon, Raonic dispatched Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6, 6-2, 6-4 but he was struggling to convert multiple match points on his serve as he was trying out different shots to close out the match by trying a half-volley at the net to clinch victory which went wide multiple times, and Carreno Busta was producing some crazy shots to save them.

Seppi had a straight-sets victory in his own right,  and it was an impressive one over Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez who is more accustomed to playing on hard and clay courts.

Their history

Raonic and Seppi have met once before and it was in a Davis Cup tie on hard courts which the Canadian won 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

Their records at SW19

Before Raonic's breakthrough run to the semifinals of Wimbledon back in 2014, the sixth seed lost in the second round on three consecutive occasions and he has never lost in the first round on the lawns of Wimbledon.

In 2011 as the 31st seed, Raonic retired from his match with Gilles Muller within five games, the following year in 2012 he was seeded 21st and suffered a four set defeat to American Sam Querrey and in 2013 as the 17th seed, a disappointing loss to Igor Sijsling occurred.

The following year in 2014, Raonic reached his first Grand Slam semifinals, registering straight sets wins in his first three rounds against Matthew Ebden, Jack Sock, and Lukas Kubot and in the fourth round after dropping the first set, Raonic defeated Kei Nishikori in four sets to reach the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Raonic battled past fellow big server Nick Kyrgios in four sets and the Canadian suffered a humbling straight sets defeat to Roger Federer with one break in each set enough for the Swiss maestro to eliminate Raonic in his first slam semifinal.

Seppi is competing in his 12th consecutive Wimbledon and he is yet to reach the quarterfinals. The Italian has lost in the first round. three times in 2005, 2012 and 2014.

Second round losses in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011 occurred for the Italian and third round finishes in 2008, 2009 and 2015.

In 2013 as the 23rd seed, Seppi's best run at Wimbledon was the fourth round and his progress was halted by eventual semifinalist and 8th seed Juan Martin del Potro

Seppi recorded a five set win over Denis Istomin in the first round, Michael Llodra retired in the second round and the Italian came back from a set down and two sets to one down to beat the 12th seed Kei Nishikori to make his first fourth round appearance at SW19.

Who wins?

Raonic is the overwhelming favourite to win this match as he is the better grass court player with a big serve and ferocious forehand.

Seppi gets a lot of points on his serve too and as you could expect in this match, there could be a couple of tiebreakers to decide proceedings taking place.

If Raonic is having a bad serving day, Seppi could take advantage and he is more than capable of beating the Canadian.

The 25-year-old Canadian has enough experience at these tournaments. and he will be hoping to be reaching the quarterfinals or better on a consistent basis at slams and staying injury free will be key for Raonic if he is seriously thinking about winning slams.

The winner of this match will play 27th seed Jack Sock or Robin Haase in the third round.

This match is scheduled to be third on No.1 Court weather permitting.

Prediction: Raonic in four sets.
