12-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will be competing at the Rio Olympics next month, however, he will be without two influential people that have guided his career, Boris Becker, and Marian Vajda.

Serbia's Davis Cup captain Bogdan Obradovic will also not be travelling to Rio with the Serbian team competing at the Olympic Games and it has been confirmed that former doubles player, Dusan Vemic will be in Obradovic's place.

Vemic has played competitive tennis on the ATP World Tour and he has been ranked as high as 31 in doubles, he is also a member of Serbia's Davis Cup team.

Djokovic determined to add another medal

The 2008 Olympic Bronze Medallist, Djokovic will be desperate to add more Olympic medals in his cabinet after leaving London four years ago without a medal as he lost in the semifinals to Andy Murray and he lost in the Bronze Medal match to 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro.

Double duty for Djokovic

The world number one will be representing Serbia in the singles and doubles disciplines, where he will be partnering eight-time Grand Slam doubles champion (five in mixed doubles and three in men's doubles) Nenad Zimonjic.

The Serbs played a doubles match on Tuesday at the Rogers Cup in Toronto as part of their preparation for Rio but they were defeated in the opening round in three sets.

Viktor Troicki who is struggling with form right now following a mini resurgent year in 2015 and picked up a title at the start of the year in Sydney is part of the Serbian contingent going to Rio.

Vemic is good for Djokovic

In March at the Miami Open, Vemic was keeping a close eye on Djokovic's progress where Vajda and Becker were absent like they will be once again in Rio.

Vemic's best Grand Slam doubles results have been reaching the semifinals on two occasions at the French Open in 2008 and the Australian Open in 2010.

The 40-year-old Serb is no stranger to coaching either as he coached 2014 French Open semifinalist Andrea Petkovic for a brief period on the WTA circuit.
