Former World Heavyweight Champion Batista has been strongly linked with a return to WWE as Vince McMahon looks to secure top stars for WrestleMania 32.

Mr McMahon has been dealt a huge blow this past year with many key superstars ruled out of the event through injury or scheduled to return too late to incorporate them into the 'Grandest Stage of Them All.'

The Animal returning?

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet Mr McMahon reportedly made an offer to the 47-year-old to return at what is being billed as 'the big one' WrestleMania 32.

With big names such as The Rock already confirming their place in Dallas, the now hollywood actor was asked to make an appearance at the AT&T Stadium on April 3rd in a non- wrestling capacity.

The former fan-favourite was believed to have met officials backstage at the Royal Rumble event to hear more about the offer but is believed to have turned the contract down.

As the build up to the big show continues the door was left open for the James Bond star to give his ideas before any sort of deal is figured out.

When big stars return there is usually an explosive atmosphere, fans off their seats and the announcers going crazy. Batista's last return had that same feel - for two weeks.

The animal's last run with WWE occured in January 2014 when he was brought in as a babyface much to fans displeasure before he quickly changed to a heel and won the Royal Rumble before going on to Main Event WrestleMania 30 in what many thought was underserving.

The main event consisted of Randy Orton - Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with either Daniel Bryan or Triple H also in the match up depending on who won.

After a huge fan push, Bryan rightly won the two matches in what was one of the best Mania moments of recent years, Dave Batista was reportedly furious with the whole booking during his run that he wanted full control if he was to ever work for the company again.

Hollywood Stardom

Upon Leaving he was one of the stars of The Guardians of the Galaxy which grossed more than $800 million worldwide before he starred in James Bond's Spectre which amassed $900 million making the former WWE Champion a huge success.

The star power of the Animal would serve as a huge boost for a show that looks to be loosing the mass exictement it once promised to uphold, with John Cena, Seth Rollins and possibly even Daniel Bryan not scheduled to be a part, should Batista be brought back for one mega run or is his time with the company over?
