Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome divisional newcomers Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday as the sides prepare for the compelling early kick-off encounter.

With a refreshing first league victory under the belt for Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage, there will be mounting belief that more wins can swiftly follow.

The Wanderers completed a resounding victory over another team fresh from the second division – Watford – after finally securing a league win after three promising performances proved fruitless.

Brentford defeated Arsenal in their divisional debut and followed the exemplary display with two resolute draws - against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, exhibiting guile and technical ability that affirms their credentials as a top-flight presence.

The pair meet at the Molineux to combine for an intriguing contest, with Wolves' offensive presence to meet a formidable Brentford backline - the Bees have conceded a mere two goals across their first four matches in the Premier League, keeping two clean sheets in the process.

Team News

Wolves are without Pedro Neto and Jonny Castro once again; the pair are long-term absentees and are begrudgingly an age away from match fitness.

There is the realistic prospect of an unchanged xi for the fourth consecutive match; with no fresh injuries to report Lage can further instil cohesion into his currently favoured starting team.

Hwang Hee-Chang will be eager to earn a starting role after emphatically scoring as a substitute with a debut goal versus Brentford last week.

Josh Dasilva and Mads Sorensen are still confined to the sideline due to respective injuries, but head coach Thomas Frank has an otherwise healthy squad.

Predicted line ups

Wolves: Sa; Kilman, Coady, Saiss; Semedo, Neves, Moutinho, Marcal; Trincao, Jimenez, Traore.

Brentford: Raya; Ajar, Jansson, Pinnock; Canos, Onyeka, Norsgaard, Janelt, Henry; Toney, Mbeumo.

Ones to Watch

Raul Jimenez

The return of Wolves' esteemed striker was always going to strengthen the offensive element of the clubs game - something that was lacking in his absence last season.

Despite returning no goals across his four appearances leading the line this season, Jimenez has impressed with a positive presence. According to Squawka, the Mexican talisman has created 12 chances in the league this season, bettered only by Trent Alexander Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Jack Grealish

Adama Traore

Adama Traore hasn't quite ignited into ferocious life thus far, but he offers guile, and sheer pace and agility to often unlock defences with unique deft movements.

Pre-match Comments

Lage detailed his desire for his squad to develop a resolute mentality that will aid their progress under his management.

"I said to them ‘boys, when you play the other teams, they need to feel we are not nice guys. They need to feel you are a hard team to beat.’ They need to feel it.”
