The Hatters are newly promoted to League Two and are back playing in the Carabao Cup this season for the first time since 2010.

Dave Challinor’s men beat fellow fourth tier side Harrogate Town 1-0 in the last round, with a Connor Jennings penalty winning the game.

Their return to the EFL has not been ideal to date, with one win and four losses from their opening five games.

Leicester City are strong favourites for this match-up, but Brendan Rodgers’ side have started the Premier League season poorly with just one point from their first three games.

The Foxes have won this cup three times, in 1964, 1997 and 2000.

They reached the quarter final last season, but were beaten 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 draw to Liverpool.

  • Ones to watch

After a successful four-season stint at Fleetwood Town in League One, Madden made the surprise move to then National League Stockport in March 2021. His impact was instant, and last season he fired 23 goals in 43 league games to help the Hatters win the league at a canter.

Patson Daka

Also a striker, Daka joined Leicester for £27 million last summer but is still yet to hit real goalscoring form after netting just five league goals in 26 games last season.

He earned his move after two prolific seasons with RB Salzburg saw him net 51 goals in 59 games in the Austrian Bundesliga. The 23 year-old is also a full Zambian international, with nine goals in 31 games for his country.
