Liverpool will hope to bounce back from their humiliating defeat against Manchester United as they take on Bournemouth at Anfield.

The Reds have suffered their worst ever start to a Premier League season, picking up only two points from three games.

They can not afford to drop many more points with a gap starting to open up at the top of the table.

Bournemouth come into this game having lost their last two games 7-0 on aggregate, albeit against Arsenal and Manchester City

Manager Scott Parker was the last opposing manager to win at Anfield when Fulham defeated Liverpool 1-0 in March 2021. He will hope his side can put in a similar performance on Saturday.

Liverpool have beaten Bournemouth six times in a row by an aggregate scoreline of 19-1.

Liverpool

Liverpool are set to be without up to 10 players.

Darwin Nunez will serve the second of his three game ban after being shown a straight red card against Crystal Palace.

Centre backs Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate are both expected to be out until September at the earliest according to Jurgen Klopp, with Joe Gomez set to partner Virgil Van Dijk

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Calvin Ramsey and Caoimhin Kelleher are all set to remain on the sidelines.

Diogo Jota is closing in a return but Saturday will come too soon.

Bournemouth

Scott Parker could welcome back Dominic Solanke against his former club after missing the defeats against Arsenal and Manchester City through an ankle injury.

Parker confirmed in his press conference that the striker would return to training on Friday.

The manager said: "Dom will train with us tomorrow, first time in training so, hopefully, if he comes through that could be an option for us".

Junior Stanislas, Ryan Fredericks and Joe Rothwell will all be unavailable. Parker stated:

"They still won't make the weekend, they are still behind in that sense. They are getting very close, Ryan is probably the closest so, hopefully, he's not too far away."

  • Likely line-ups

Liverpool

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Henderson, Elliott; Diaz, Carvalho, Salah.

Bournemouth

Travers, Smith, Mepham, Lerma, Kelly, Stacey, Billing, Cook, Tavernier, Christie, Solanke.

  • Key players

Liverpool- Mohamed Salah

Salah has scored in all six games against Bournemouth, scoring eight goals in the process. The Egyptian has 29 goal involvements in 29 starts against newly promoted clubs.

The prolific forward has also been directly involved in 17 goals in his 16 Premier League appearances in August for Liverpool. (TalkSport)

He will certainly fancy his chances of adding to this tally against a side who are tipped to be relegated.

Bournemouth- Dominic Solanke

The former Liverpool striker could be the answer to Bournemouth's goal-scoring problems as he looks set to lead the line at Anfield.

He will be up against an out of form Liverpool defence who are leaking goals and his presence along with a potential point to prove could be vital for the Cherries if they are to snatch anything out of this game.
