Though there hasn't been a huge amount of action from Liverpool in the transfer window this season, quality in the likes of Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho has come through the doors, while players such as Sadio Mané and Divock Origi have said their farewells to the club.

Here are the inward transfers for the Reds.

Darwin Nunez - 8/10

Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica this summer for a fee of around £70 million.

The Uruguayan impressed last season for the Portuguese club, particularly in the Champions League. The 23-year-old scored in the group stage versus Barcelona (twice) and Bayern Munich, whilst netting in the knockouts versus Ajax and his now-club Liverpool (twice).

After joining the Reds, Nunez talked about the impact his new teammates had on his welcome, "To be honest, the first weeks I was extremely nervous . But as time went by, they made me feel comfortable, I had a talk with Mo Salah that helped me a lot”.

Darwin Nunez had eyes watching him all over the world, with many criticising him after he played his first game in a pre-season friendly with no goal or assist.

The Uruguayan then left the critiques eating their words as he went on to score 4 goals versus RB Leipzig in a friendly, as well as netting the 3rd goal in the Community Shield final, then going on to score an equaliser in Liverpool's opening match in the Premier League versus Fulham.

Despite the impressive start Nunez endured, this came crashing down as the Uruguayan received the first red card of his career after headbutting Crystal Palace defender Joachim Anderson. This leaves him on a 3 match ban, missing fixtures versus Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

After the red card incident, Nunez took to Twitter to apologise to his fans, saying "I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also had his say on the matter, "definitely the wrong reaction. A clear red card, I cannot deny that."

Though Nunez hasn't yet had the time to prove himself in the Premier League, his performances so far for Liverpool combined with his Champions League efforts last season suggest that we will be in for a treat in the coming seasons.

It is likely we'll see the Uruguayan back in action against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Fabio Carvalho - 7/10

Fabio Carvalho was signed from Fulham in May on a pre-contract for around £5 million. The youngster then officially joined the Reds at the beginning of July.

Carvalho started his first-team career at Fulham in 2020, making 44 appearances for the West London club, scoring 12 goals.

Rumours started flying around the football community in the 2021 winter transfer window, with the two clubs unable to come to an agreement before the deadline.

Excitement whirled around LFC fans as the announcement was made, many eagerly awaiting his debut for the club.

Liverpool previously signed another prospect from Fulham in Harvey Elliott, who has proved his worth and shown the world his talent. The hope that Carvalho can do the same is prominent.

The Portuguese midfielder so far has made just 3 appearances for Liverpool, though he has shown us glimpses of his undeniable talent and is certainly a player with heaps of future potential.

Since playing as a substitute in Liverpool's most recent match versus Crystal Palace, the 19-year-old commented on his ambitions at the club, "I'm really looking forward to that because I feel like that's everyone's dream as a little kid, to play in the Champions League."

Calvin Ramsay - 6/10

The final inward transfer of the window so far is 19-year-old Calvin Ramsay, who was signed by Liverpool from Aberdeen for a fee of around £4 million.

Ramsay made 39 appearances for Aberdeen, scoring 1 goal and providing 9 assists for his former teammates.

The Scot impressed LFC scouts whilst playing for his former club and could eventually find himself challenging for a position in the first team squad in the right-back position.

After his move to Merseyside, Jurgen Klopp expressed his excitement about the youngster, "He is athletic, smart, confident, with good technical ability and – always crucial – is eager to learn. So there’s lots to like."

The right-back won the Young Player of the Year award in Scotland after his impressive 2021/22 breakthrough season.

Though Ramsay is yet to make his debut due to an injury discovered in his medical back in July, Liverpool fans will be awaiting his first minutes to witness his talent and potential.

Outward transfers

Liverpool saw 3 forwards leave the club this summer: Sadio Mané, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi.

Mané is widely regarded as a Liverpool legend, after making 269 appearances for the Reds, scoring 120 goals. The winger was 1 third of the iconic trio, involving himself, Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah.

Liverpool fans endured an emotional farewell with the Senegalese after his move to Bayern Munich, and he will be deeply missed by many.

27-year-old Takumi Minamino joined Monaco this summer after failing to kick-start his Liverpool career.

The Japanese spent 3 years at Liverpool, scoring 14 goals. Minamino also spent half a season on loan at Southampton, where he made 10 appearances.

Divock Origi left Liverpool on a free transfer to join AC Milan after his contract expired this summer.

The Belgian endured many iconic moments on Merseyside such as goals in the Champions League semi-final and final, as well as last-minute winners versus the likes of Newcastle and Everton.

Origi will be missed hugely by Liverpool fans due to his instant impact from the bench and all the joyous moments he brought during his 9-year spell with the Reds.

Welsh right-back Neco Williams moved to Nottingham Forest this summer for a fee of around £16 million.

Williams endured a frustrating time at Liverpool, playing second fiddle to generational full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite the talent he possesses.

After making 33 appearances for the Reds, Willams decided to move onto a new challenge, signing for the newly promoted Nottingham Forest, where he has started both of their first 2 matches, losing 2-0 to Newcastle before beating West Ham 1-0.
